Objectives under the direction of our R&D program:
- Work with large data sets to predict and test statistical market patterns
- Conceptualize strategies, develop and improve models, and translate algorithms into code
- Back test and implement trading models and signals in a live trading environment
Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
We are looking for someone with a minimum of 3-years worth of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models. The candidate should have a Masters or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or a similar subject, and be familiar with the following software tools:
- Hands on programming experience with object-oriented languages: C++, C#, and/or Python
- In-depth knowledge and experience of statistical modelling and data mining techniques (e.g. time-series analysis, machine learning, pattern recognition)
- A background demonstrating strong analytical problem solving skills
- Experience building and back-testing advanced machine learning algorithms for classification, regression and clustering
- Proficiency in creating and using algorithms to investigate and work through large data or error-checking problems
In addition, the candidate should be a collaborative team player, have strong written and verbal communication skills, and have the ability to work autonomously. The role will be supervised and training will be provided.
