Company & Team - "About Us"

Our products cover global fixed income & equity markets and include globally recognized branded proprietary indices such as those for bonds (iBoxx), credit derivatives (CDX & iTraxx), structured finance (ABX, CMBX) and economic (PMI) indices.

Customers throughout the financial services industry (including banks, asset managers, hedge funds, and insurance companies) leverage our indices products and services for performance benchmarking, as underlying for ETFs and/or tradable products, independent valuations, research support and analysis, and risk management.

IHS Markit Indices sits within the Financial Services division, one of 12 industries of the global parent.

Duties and Responsibilities - "Your Role"

The individual will be part of our iBoxx fixed income product management team in London. The successful candidate will contribute to the execution of index product strategies and product development in Europe and globally.

A large part of the responsibilities includes compiling and drafting research on index product requirements based on guidance provided by senior team members, working with clients and internal stakeholders (e.g. index research & design, operations, and development teams) to support the creation of new indices and assist with queries relating to existing index products.

The individual will have a good attention to detail and is also expected to demonstrate strong analytical, quantitative, and quality control skills. Excellent verbal and presentation skills are equally important for the role. The ability to work to deadlines and prioritize a complex workload will be required. A flexible attitude and the ability to work collaboratively are expected. The candidate will have a good level of commercial awareness and the motivation to understand the commercial impact of the projects.

After successful development, set-up, and client sign-off, the securities selection and daily production of the indices are handed over in due course to the Index Operations team. Some involvement in the administration of the index, especially around the rebalancing, is expected from time to time to assist in resolving issues arising from complex market developments.

This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter individual who can help shape and drive our iBoxx bond index product development.
