As the Research Lead for IHS Markit's Corporate Emissions practice, you will be responsible for developing research and insight into energy value chain greenhouse gas emissions for corporate and financial clients. You will be joining an exciting and growing multidisciplinary team that is building a leading greenhouse gas emissions product to help clients solve one of today's biggest issues.
As the Research Lead you will:
- Take ownership and develop our energy and industrial value-chain emissions commentary for the Corporate Emissions Solution product and relate emissions trends to companies and portfolio choices.
- Develop and articulate a research agenda adapted to the needs of financial and corporate clients.
- Deliver clear, concise and actionable analysis and insight through written analysis, commentary and interpretation of market events and developing trends in climate and emissions space.
- Work within our network of experts in across IHS Markit to translate ideas and forecasts into short and actionable notes.
- Support sales people and product managers in sales meetings by providing commercial, actionable insights to prospects and clients that leverage your subject matter expertise.
About You
- 5+ years of work experience in the energy industry, NGOs, research & consultancy, or government with a specific focus on climate impacts and decision making.
- Demonstrated ability to derive and communicate insights from data with a penchant for data story-telling
- Impeccable writing and editing skills in English. This is a position that requires writing frequent short and concise analytical notes, and a track record and experience in issuing frequent analysis is a must.
- B.S. in Engineering, Environmental Studies, or Earth Sciences. Graduate degree is preferred
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications, and familiarity with data visualization tools such as Microsoft PowerBI, Sportfire or Tableau.
