Your Role

The Sales Development Representation will be responsible for generating leads for the existing sales team with extended duties including handling client support requests, prospecting, qualifying new sales leads, in addition to hunting whitespace for new logo's.

This candidate will be a highly motivated, self-starter able to identify and develop new business prospects from multiple sources including inbound marketing leads, prospect lists, discovery and individual research. A dynamic personality with a drive to reach decision makers is essential!

The Sales Development Representative will report to the regional Strategic Account Manager.

What you'll work on:
  • Maintain a self-starter attitude while creating outreach strategies for new lead generation methods
  • Support senior salespeople on outbound strategies and lead generating efforts
  • Be the first point of contact for new business prospects and determine the next steps for each prospect moving forward
  • Establish active communication and engagement with prospects to create new leads and sales openings
  • Collaborate with sales teams by creating innovative lead generation ideas
  • Become familiar with IHS Markit's Engineering & Product Design product portfolio
  • Assist senior salespeople by responding to client support requests
  • Utilize Salesforce to track all client interactions
  • Providing clients, both internal and external, with timely assistance as required to help build and cultivate prospect relationships in order to move opportunities through the sales funnel.
  • Helping to drive leads and online traffic with web-based activities and programs in partnership with Marketing function.

About You

What we look for:
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • Prior sales experience is ideal
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral; public speaking experience is a plus
  • Experience and/or familiarity with the engineering industry is a plus.
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and SalesForce; experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator or other similar prospecting applications is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and phone/email presence; must be able to deal with others in a pleasant manner and work under varying degrees of pressure and time constraints
  • Ability to work independently while still interacting within an integrated team structure
  • A team player that recognizes and contributes to the overall goals of the team
  • Excellent customer service skills.
