Who we are looking for
We are hiring for the Project Manager position within the EMEA SSGA Project Management Office (PMO) based in London. The role is considered to be a project management and business analyst hybrid position. The EMEA PMO are responsible for delivering projects both within EMEA and cross region/globally where applicable. Projects are managed within the Change Management Framework to provide adherence to the relevant governance and oversight controls. Projects covered include but are not limited to regulatory implementation/change, industry requirements, process solution creation/improvement and developing new investment practice operational models. This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.

What you will be responsible for
As Project Manager you will
  • Actively collaborate with applicable business functions across SSGA, other State Street business lines and external partners to deliver projects in adherence with the change management framework.
  • Work with stakeholders to analyze the multiple and intricate data elements within end-to-end processes and seek to improve efficiency, as well as identifying means to mitigate risk and improve controls.
  • Communicate in a clear and transparent manner via suitable forums and mediums to all applicable persons/groups including senior management committees, fund/legal entity boards, and regulatory forums.
  • Identify where processes can be aligned and standardized via common and robust solutions.
  • Produce, maintain and manage approval of required project documentation in alignment to the tollgate requirements of the change management framework.
  • Manage multiple projects across different disciplines concurrently.
  • With stakeholder input, you should appropriately communicate and track progress, dependencies and assumptions, roles and responsibilities, issues and risks, and key milestones.
  • Manage adherence to, or agreed changes to, project scope to ensure the project remains focused on expected outcomes and target deliverables.
  • Read appropriate regulations and contribute to the interpretation of their impact on our business
  • Liaise with global IT and impacted business functions to ensure there is a clear mapping of change by gathering the future state models and highlighting changes and any risks to the current processes so that they are both visible and effectively transferred into a set of core future operating standards and measures.
  • Manage adherence to scope and requirements to ensure the projects remain on track.
  • Proactively embed process ownership and knowledge into the respective business lines ensuring there is an ongoing governance and control structure to maintain the efficiency of the project beyond implementation.
  • Identify conflicts as they arise and collaborate with appropriate parties to resolve.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement to actively participate in working/steering group meetings and provide project communication commensurate with Sponsor/Manager expectations.
  • Support business owners in defining test conditions and success criteria requirements in advance of system testing. Where necessary, define, participate and undertake testing, defect analysis and issue resolution during testing cycles.
  • Deliver clear and timely project updates with appropriate documentation to all relevant stakeholders including presentations to senior management committees, fund/entity boards, and regulatory forums.
  • Manage and escalate all risks and issues promptly, to the required governance level, and with mitigation proposals where appropriate.
  • Provide cross-training and share information gained to appropriate parties. Consider suitable methods to maintain up-to-date documentation to assist with ongoing training and use for analysis with future development.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • You should have a minimum of 3 years relevant experience or worked in a similar role within an investment management company.
  • A detailed working knowledge of global financial instruments is an essential requirement.
  • Strong MS Office skills, in particular Excel, PowerPoint, Visio & Microsoft Project, are necessary.
