The Role: Data, Valuation and Analytics CIS Product Manager - Textual Data
Grade: 11 (relevant for internal applicants only)
Location: London, UK

The Team: Company Information Services (CIS) under the Data, Valuation, and Analytics (DVA) business-line focuses on the development, marketing, GTM, monetization, and overall success of creating and selling datasets as marketable, relevant products. Product Managers own their specific datasets and with support from the CIS leadership team, are responsible for the revenue growth generated from their datasets. Our team works collaboratively with all relevant stakeholders within SPGI to position our products to help solve customer problems and enhance other product offerings.

The Impact: As a Product Manager for textual datasets on the CIS team, your focus will be on growing the suite of textual data products and offerings. This will include identifying new opportunities, improving existing products, assisting clients with Natural Language Processing (NLP) initiatives, and maximizing the value clients receive from textual data. You will be responsible for addressing client needs, as well as helping drive revenue and innovation across the product suite. You will implement and develop these new technologies by working directly with Clients, Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Segments and Technology to ensure alignment and execution.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate activities related to the Textual Data product offering and its enablement to all Enterprise products (Daily Feeds, API, Low Latency Feeds)
  • Work closely with our clients to understand their needs, the competition and articulate the value proposition of our products
  • Build relationships across Content and Technology to ensure maximum client value is being delivered
  • Manage the business requirements for all existing product processes and new ideas that will start in the future
  • Participate in regular product and dataset reviews to fully engage others groups around the offering.
  • Creation of metrics to demonstrate accuracy and rigor of the product offering (timeliness, coverage, frequency)
  • Support and influence strategic road maps for new and existing content within the Textual Data offering and work collaboratively with the additional business and product teams across S&P Global to identify new or expanded content and analytics
  • Provide thought leadership exemplifying use cases and unique insights from textual data feeds including Machine Readable Transcripts, Scripts Asia, Machine Readable Filings, Textual Data Analytics, and other textual datasets
  • Monitor Marketplace tiles for accuracy of content and visualizations that best reflect the underlying dataset
  • Execute technology initiatives with the IT organization by providing functional requirements and data analysis
What We're Looking For:
Business Knowledge:
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial industry, Regulatory initiatives, and competitive landscape
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on expertise in defining enterprise data strategies, and successfully leading product management functions
  • Strong organizational management, business case development, and able to work across business teams to meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with advanced/predictive analytics, and data-centric technologies desired
  • Knowledge and experience working with structured data and data repositories used for data mining and innovation analysis
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of product quality and data management
  • Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of product experience including enterprise-wide data initiatives and working with datasets in the financial services industry
  • Proven ability to work with and motivate global teams in a diverse and complex organization to deliver quality results on time
  • Demonstrable experience resolving complex operational problems requiring strategic and innovative solutions
  • Extensive experience developing financial market data services products from concept to commercialization
  • Exceptional ability to work in an international multi-cultural environment utilizing effective influencing, negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong public speaking skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels within an organization
  • A highly motivated self-starter; ability to work independently and creatively as well as within a team
  • Excellent networking skills are required in order to obtain market information necessary to anticipate customer needs and interpret the trends that are evolving in the markets S&P Global serves.
  • Knowledge and experience in SQL, Natural Language Processing, and Python
