We're looking for an Analyst Developer to join our Data Insights and Engineering team. Someone who possesses the experience of designing and delivering powerful, elegant products but is also comfortable championing strong delivery principles with our other team members. Using best-in-class tools, we're looking for someone to bring our data, analytics and insights to life in powerful products to empower our client facing teams.

You'll be responsible for delivering and promoting all aspects of analysis, design, development, building and testing of solutions within the team. Responsible for managing your own work, estimating size and complexity and determining appropriate design, we're looking for someone who leads by example by delivering Better Products Faster.

The team
Within Client Insight Unit technology, we design, create and deliver enhancements to our in-house analytics and SaaS CRM products to maximise the opportunities for our Sales, Marketing and Client Service teams to deliver a best in class and differentiating experience. Bringing to life both internal and external data in elegant products, we endeavour to enrich each interaction and support each teams decision making.

We recognise that successfully balancing personal and professional commitments brings out the best in our teams and therefore all roles in Global Technology are reviewed for suitability for flexible working arrangements. At present with this specific opportunity it is expected to require 5 working days per week, with a minimum of 2 onsite in London. We passionately believe that individual performance is enhanced by embracing the whole individual and structuring a working environment that supports them.

What you'll do
• Create appealing, intuitive and insightful products for users of the Client Insight Unit products
• Deliver change against a first class data and analytics platform to support Sales planning and decision making
• Coach and develop more junior team members, ensuring appropriate design principles are established, and the similarly appropriate engineering practices and methodologies are adopted
• Partner with our Product Owner(s) to ensure that Epics, Features and Stories to be delivered by the team are suitably well defined and structured
• Develop a deep understanding of the business processes and teams to support continued value delivery
• Participate enthusiastically and effectively in Agile events

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
• Strong Python development experience in an enterprise environment
• Experience with both SQL and NoSQL database platforms
• Experience of Business Insights tools (e.g. Tableau / PowerBI)
• An understanding of data structures and common data transformation methodologies
• Data engineering experience using proven patterns and practices
• Experience coaching and leading team members within a development team
• Able to work in a modern software engineering environment using Agile and DevOps methodologies and tools including Scrum, git and CI/CD
• Able to deal credibly with business and technical users at all levels of the organisation
• Experience of working with global colleagues and stakeholders and sensitivity to cultural differences, time zones etc.

The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help
• Qualifications and experience of development within a Cloud Environment (Azure / AWS)
• Knowledge and experience of using business analysis techniques and methodologies
• Experience of data virtualisation, warehouse tools (Denodo / Snowflake)
• Experience working in Financial Services, preferably Asset Management
• Background in data and analytics
• Basic professional qualifications relating to business analysis or the asset management industry (E.g. IMC, ISEB)
