Position Description:

As one of the world's largest asset managers and a leader in fixed income investing, partaking in Primary and Secondary bond issuance is pivotal to our business success. Our Issuance Platform technology team is leading the development of proprietary software that facilitates the internal workflows surrounding Primary and Secondary Market book building, fair distribution and ticketing.

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Lead to join our Technology Automated Trading team which will support the Issuance Platforms. The successful candidate will lead software development projects and teams to solve complex problems in an efficient manner whilst partnering with the front office and the broader technology organization to bring outstanding solutions in an agile construct.


  • Lead multiple, full stack development teams to solve business and technical challenges
  • Build applications based on cloud native principles, with high availability and scale in mind
  • Development of in-house sophisticated issuance application suite
  • Production support, triage and resolution of real time issues
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Managers and partners across other technology teams in the organization to deliver outstanding solutions in an agile delivery construct
  • Maintain and develop existing issuance application suite aligning with strategic technology initiatives and business value delivery

Position Requirements:

  • 8+ years of software development experience in a financial services domain
  • Financial industry knowledge required, Investment Management preferred
  • Strong Oracle Database and SQL knowledge
  • Experience with public cloud technologies and cloud native development principles
  • Passion for automation and experience with CICD tools, Gitlab or other
  • Experience in writing software in one or more languages such as HTML, Java, Python, Javascript/Typescript
  • Validated team leadership capabilities, encouraging others based on integrity and trust and fostering a culture of mentoring
  • Technical skillset includes data models, messaging, REST, design patterns and standard methodologies for system integration
  • Strong practitioner of DevOps practices using DevOps tooling
  • Knowledge of FIX Protocol is preferred
  • Good interpersonal, partnership and communication skills and the ability to work well and engage with both technology and business colleagues
  • Comfortable working independently or collegially to support peers across multiple time-zones
  • BS/MS degree in a STEM / Computer Science related field
