IBD - Java Engineer - Associate - London

JOB DUTIES:

• Engage in building new and maintaining existing enterprise applications and platforms used by Investment Bankers globally by using various frontend (such as JavaScript, HTML CSS), backend (such as Java, Spring, Hibernate) and database (such as SQL Server, ElasticSearch) technologies.
• Involved in all phases of software development life cycle (SDLC) including effort estimation, the gathering of business requirements, the design, development, reviewing, building, testing, and deployment of commercial scale software changes.
• Interface and communicate independently with Investment Bankers for requirement discussions, user acceptance testing, production pilot and support.
• Involved in technical design and development for both business-driven and infrastructure projects with minimal supervision.
• Apply Agile methodologies in sprint-based development.
• Involved in periodic release by getting involved in deployment and post release check-outs.
• Engage with support teams to troubleshoot and solve production issue faced by Investment Bankers.
• Analyze new tools and technologies for proof of concept and come up with recommendation.
• Demonstrate leadership and decision making to help train and mentor new application developers.

MINIMUM YEARS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Four (4) years' experience in the job offered or in a related position. Master's or Bachelor's degree

SPECIAL SKILLS AND/OR LICENSES REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE JOB:
Must have at least four (4) years of experience in the Java ecosystem:

• Utilizing programming skills to analyze, design, develop, and support enterprise application development.
• Utilizing scalable enterprise system design and micro services architecture.
• Utilizing object-oriented concepts, data structures and design patterns.
• Programing experience in the following technologies:
  • Java/J2EE, Spring, Hibernate
  • UI Technologies including React, Angular, Node JS, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
  • Messaging Technologies including Kafka, Rabbit MQ
  • Open-source frameworks and APIs including Dropwizard, Apache Drools, Log4J, MapStruct, Dozer, and Mockito
  • Database technologies including Sybase and MongoDB
  • Business process model and notation (BPMN) tools such as Camunda.
  • Source control management systems e.g. Git, build systems including Maven and Gradle, Code quality including Semmle, Artifact repository manager including Maven, Continuous integration including Jenkins, and Project tracking including JIRA.
• Testing driven development using TestNG, Jasmine, Karma, and Jest, also applying knowledge of test practices and different types of testing to build reliable and resilient applications.
• Providing level three support for applications using troubleshooting skills.
