JOB OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking a strong Lead Systems Analyst to play a key role, deliver solutions to our business partners, solve complex problems, and strive to advance and sustain world-class technology platforms. This position requires strong analytical skills, with a high attention to detail, and a desire to analyze and solve complex problems. This individual must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work on a variety of assignments with people across the organization. Excellent organization, communication, and delivery skills are required. This individual must be a team player with a desire and willingness to learn.

The Portfolio Implementation Technology team is responsible for delivering technology solutions to support Wellington's investment teams. The team plays a critical role in our firm's success by providing technical solutions which improve the efficiency, speed and quality of the highly complex investment decision-making process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Interact directly with business partners at all levels of the organization to define, analyze, and document requirements, as well as set priorities

• Act as a champion and trusted advisor for the needs of the business partners

• Conduct a thorough systems analysis for business requirements and provide functional specifications with detailed use cases to the delivery team

• Develop a strong partnership with the delivery team to ensure on time, scalable, and high-quality business solutions

• Perform gap analysis between investment process and existing systems

• Provide input into system design to help the programming teams define effort and implementation schedules

• Create prototypes and assist with systems design to optimize user experience

• Provide hands-on analysis for support issues and assist with user training

• Manage product releases and assist with post-release testing

• Provide guidance, and supervision, of junior members of the team, as well as onshore and offshore consultants

• Demonstrate strong project management and leadership skills with ability to handle multiple activities in a dynamic fast paced environment

• Provide regular status reporting and issue tracking

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 5 years of experience working in an analytical role within the financial industry

• Strong understanding of multiple asset classes (equities, fixed income, foreign exchange, derivatives)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail

• Strong client relationship skills and proven ability to build consensus

• Experience working directly with business partners to understand their needs and deliver solutions that meet those needs

• Experience writing requirements, functional specifications, use cases, and test plans

• Change agent, creative, innovative, and focused on continuous improvements

• Self-motivated and willing to work in an energetic, fast paced team environment

• A strong team player, with ability to work in collaboration across teams

• Intellectual curiosity and interest to learn independently and from peers

• Experience documenting/diagramming workflows, such as Visio

• Good understanding of various financial instruments as well as investment data concepts such as holdings, transactions, analytics, performance, risk will be a plus

• Strong data analysis skills along with hands-on knowledge of SQL, or another relational database technology

• Financial qualifications, such as the CFA, would be advantageous

• Any experience with Python, Jira or Git would also be advantageous
