This growing boutique investment firm are looking for a senior investment professional at the VP level to join their real estate debt investment team with the versatility to get involved with other aspects of the business.

This role will primarily be focused on underwriting and originating new financing opportunities. The role would suit an analytical individual with a genuine interest in, and experience with, real estate debt investments across the capital structure (incl. senior and mezz debt). The candidate will also take an active role in the origination process and will be a representative of the company to all external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:
  • Assessing transaction opportunities and producing clear summaries to enable decision-making,
  • Designing, amending, and updating models (ranging in complexity) for real estate debt transactions; running scenarios on the models and producing outputs for external and internal purposes
  • Executing quantitative and qualitative transaction analysis to form a sound opinion
  • Producing clear and articulate material such as teasers, presentations, and comprehensive credit report papers to present sound recommendations to management team and the Investment Committee
  • Coordinating and leading internal and external transaction-related meetings
  • Managing the relationship with clients, legal and professional advisors, including overseeing advisors instruction, commercial negotiation and completion of the legal documentation
  • Overseeing the project monitoring effort by providing analytical and commercial expertise
  • Developing robust relationships with existing clients
  • Taking a lead origination role on new lending opportunities, expanding across the capital structure (senior and mezz) and real estate asset classes, by leveraging off a pre-existing network and building new network
  • Being a representative of the business, liaising with management teams, developers, brokers, intermediaries, investors and 3rd party organisations in key markets and geographies.
  • Meeting agreed business targets for credit worthiness, new business conversions, and client retention
  • Adhering to all compliance needs within the business
  • Relationship management throughout the transaction lifecycle
  • Promotion of the firm to a wider audience


Requirements:
  • Proven track record of leading and originating transactions as well as developing key client
  • relationships within the real estate and other asset-backed sectors
  • Excellent market and technical knowledge
  • Strong existing relationships and understanding of the current market conditions
  • Creative and resourceful in deal underwriting and origination
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Personable and able to build and maintain key client relationships
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Attention to detail and accurate recording of activity
  • Tenacity and commitment
