Senior Manager Investment Management Oversight

Meraki Talent's client is a leading provider of Investment Fund Solutions to a wide range of corporate and financial institutions.

As part of their ongoing development, they wish to recruit an individual for a senior management role to work as part of a team who effectively ensure that external delegate investment managers are managing the company funds in accordance with contractual obligations and the regulatory requirements of the FCA and other relevant regulators.

Some of the key responsibilities for this pivotal function will be to:

• Undertake a detailed risk assessment of a proposed investment manager delegate, making recommendations to the business committee on risk issues to be considered prior to deciding whether to enter into a portfolio management agreement.
• Agree and put in place a monitoring plan appropriate to the risk assessed with that particular investment manager and the funds managed.
• Review the risk assessment and monitoring plan on an ongoing basis taking account of changes in the portfolio, changes at the investment firm, market developments, regulatory changes, external information, etc.
• Take the lead in scheduling, planning and undertaking regular and ongoing due diligence visits to the investment managers in accordance with their relative risk assessment.

The roles will suit an individual with proven experience at management level in an asset management, compliance and/or related audit or risk management controls environment obtained via external or internal audit, corporate compliance, compliance consultancy or a regulator along with a sound and deep knowledge of the FCA requirements applying to investment management and the investment management process as well as strong risk identification, assessment and mitigation skills.
