A globally recognised insurance business is undergoing significant change and improvement to its finance team and as such are looking to hire highly commercial accountants into their team. The Finance Business Partnering function is a trusted and well connected team at the heart of the business, working closely with the most senior leaders to provide strategic insight and analysis to challenge our teams and drive better decision making. In this role you will:
  • Develop excellent MI reporting and tracking of the business's strategic objectives for the functions you support in line with agreed KPI's.
  • Provide financial expertise and evaluation on key company wide strategic initiatives and other commercial reviews required by ExCo and the senior leadership team (SLT).
  • Provide financial and commercial decision-making documentation/papers before review by ExCo and the SLT including quarterly operating review pack preparation which will provide business insight and informed challenge that is relevant to each ExCo function and the CEO
  • Take a structured approach to drive collaboration between business functions and all areas of Group Finance.
  • Partner with SLT on commercial and financial decision making, focusing on cost reduction, revenue enhancement and efficiency opportunities.
  • Work in partnership with the Strategic PMO to evaluate project investment and effectively manage global project spend to ensure ongoing benefit tracking is linked to budget and forecast cycles.
  • Lead projects to continuously improve processes and activities that include: evaluation of systems and processes to enhance information reliability, accuracy, interrogation and insight for the business
  • Provide Performance analysis of portfolios, assessing actual and forecast deviation from initial plans, highlighting issues and opportunities and providing guidance business leaders.

This role would suit a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) who has worked either within a non-life insurance business or an accountancy practice. You will need to be commercially aware and have an appreciation of the drivers behind the insurance market as well as an appreciation of a full insurance P&L.
