When you step into SEI - anywhere in the world - you know you're not inside a traditional financial services company. Our open innovation spaces spur creativity, the provocative artwork inspires conversation, and the flexible work-life balance drives personal and professional growth. We are a place to inspire your work, build your voice, and grow your community. We're different. And we're proud of it.

Summary:

The SEI Wealth Platform (SWP) is an end-to-end solution designed to help financial intermediaries and their advisors to manage evolving needs, operate seamlessly in global markets, and drive efficiency throughout their wealth management business. The target audience for SEI's Investment Processing Solution is the largest Global Bank Wealth Departments, Independent Financial Advisors, and other related Wealth Management intermediaries.

We expect you to enhance the first line of defence for risk and compliance within SWP to ensure that the business operates in an effective way to help deliver against its strategic goals while also ensuring appropriate governance and adherence to the regulatory requirements that SEI Investments (Europe) Limited (SIEL), our regulated entity, is held to.

This is a new position for SWP that will have an opportunity to learn from and work with a variety of internal teams, including but not limited to Risk, Compliance, Financial Crime and Legal. Your primary focus will be on SWP's UK-based business risks (including strategic, financial and operational risks). You will also be expected to support business led projects, client agendas and regulatory changes.

The role will report into the UK Commercial Director, but you will also be working with the wider senior management team.

What you'll do:
  • Leverage, build upon, centralise and embed existing risk and compliance frameworks, including data protection and financial crime, and related work and processes from across SWP's UK-based business, primarily focusing on the Market Unit (Sales, Strategy, Client Service, Relationship Management, Solutions and Change)
  • Participate in and lead the first line of defence for risk, compliance, data protection and financial crime monitoring reviews and resulting activities including coordination and oversight of management actions, information, record keeping and awareness (in collaboration with relevant second line of defence teams)
  • As part of SWP's first line of defence, you will have a working knowledge of and help ensure adherence to the overall SIEL Risk Management Framework and its individual components by establishing and operating an effective risk and control environment and culture within SWP including control testing and assessment, and supporting ICARA processes
  • Work with SWP senior management to ensure alignment of SWP's Business Strategy with the SIEL Board approved Risk Appetite
  • Work with the market unit to ensure all risk incidents are escalated, reported and managed in line with the Incident Escalation & Management Policy
  • Prepare, monitor and report on the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) for SWP UK, feeding into the SIEL firm-wide RCSA. This includes actively assessing risks on an ongoing basis and updating RCSAs based on the impact of new business initiatives, operating model changes and other impacts which may result in a change to our risk exposure. This will also include the performance and coordination of key control testing on a regular basis.
  • Plan, report and track mitigation and remediation plans/actions related to gaps in RCSA; risk events, breaches and any SWP client complaints; or gaps identified from the second line of defence compliance or risk monitoring reviews and third line of defence internal audits relating to SWP
  • Document risk acceptances and overrides, establish and report KRIs and validate their accuracy on an ongoing basis, raise emerging risks and consider the potential impact of external events
  • Participate in and/or lead regulatory change projects, and provide solutions to a range of issues or requests that may arise, including working with Compliance and/or others to provide information and/or draft responses to FCA or other regulator requests where relevant to SWP
  • May include occasional participation in prospect and client meetings and support RFP and Due Diligence responses
  • Partake in all relevant risk related training and awareness initiatives and provide coaching to colleagues

What you'll bring to the role:
  • Demonstrable experience working within financial services in a risk or regulatory role, including working knowledge of the generic RCSA processes (ideally with a related education)
  • Passion for risk management and desire to enhance and expand upon our first line of defence
  • Ability to acquire in-depth knowledge of SEI products, solutions and distribution relationships as well as corresponding regulatory requirements
  • Excellent written communication skills in order to write policies and procedures
  • Strong Excel worksheet, data analysis and data presentation skills
  • Project management experience
  • Proficient IT skills - all Microsoft office products and able to pick up other systems easily

Attributes we value:
  • Excellent problem solving skills, thinking outside the box to find solutions
  • Credible communicator that can influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Skilled in collaboration
  • Energetic, adaptable and creative
  • A keen desire for process improvement
  • Strong project and time management skills
