Role Context:

The Enterprise Risk Management function operates across the insurance and asset management businesses, and M&G plc Group. It maintains the overall Risk Management Framework and is responsible for a range of enterprise-wide risk management processes, reporting into Board, Board Committees, Executive Committees and sub-committees thereof.

The Senior Risk Analyst works under the supervision of a Risk Subject Matter Expert in close partnership with stakeholders across the business. This role will include focus on PRA and FCA-related enterprise risk management processes.

  • Accountable for providing a quality service or product to customers and stakeholders, using skills/experience built through significant practical experience or training

  • Makes suggestions for improvements to the work of the team, based on previous experience and knowledge of similar situation

Key Responsibilities:
  • To work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to support enhancement of the overall control environment, customers outcomes and a reduction in M&G plc's operational risk.
  • To support the development and maintenance of the Risk Management Framework, including risk policies and standards, and advise on the attestation against policy requirements in line with the Group Governance Framework.
  • To support the bottom-up, top-down and emerging risk processes.
  • To advise on and support the implementation of PRA and FCA-related processes for which the team is responsible.
  • To operate the process for producing reports for which the team is responsible.
  • To advise Finance on content relating to risks and uncertainties in the annual report and accounts of the Company's legal entities.

Knowledge & Experience:
  • Working knowledge of Industry best practices and good network/links with individuals and external bodies desirable.
  • Working knowledge of financial services regulatory and legislatory frameworks, desirable.
  • Working knowledge of Life, Pensions and Investment products, markets and competitors essential.
  • Working knowledge of risk methodologies and frameworks desirable.
  • Working knowledge of M&G plc products, systems and distribution methods desirable.
  • Some experience in liaising, influencing and negotiating effectively with internal parties and external parties essential.
  • Some experience in providing input on regulatory/business developments desirable.
  • Some experience in Risk Identification - bottom-up, top risks, strategic risks and emerging risks desirable.
  • Some experience in developing Risk Management Frameworks - policies, standards, appetite statements/limits - desirable.
  • Some experience in taking broad spectrum data and presenting to senior management in an effective way desirable.
  • Some experience in asset management and insurance markets, and how regulations are applied, desirable.
