My client requires a reliable, conscientious and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working autonomously and takes pride in completing work to an exacting standard. The firm is small and will not suit everyone, however it will definitely work for an individual who enjoys a varied and challenging role. This role provides exceptional career development and exposure to the business but will not provide a route to an Investment Analyst position.

They are seeking an all‐round individual who is prepared to work hard to understand the business.

This role presents an opportunity to work within the combined operations & client service team that is responsible for fund operations, trading, compliance, investment support and client service. The small team means that the role is broad and diverse and will offer the successful candidate the chance to understand the business from end to end. The work is detailed and routine. It is envisaged that the training for this role will take at least 18 months as the candidate will rotate through other areas of Operations and Client Service.

The position has five key elements:

Fund Operations
  • Preparing Daily fund valuations and performance reporting
  • Trade matching and settlement
  • Foreign exchange
  • Daily and monthly NAV reconciliations
  • Pre and post‐trade compliance monitoring
  • Proxy voting
  • Corporate actions

Fund Accounting
  • Reconcile and approve the funds' Net Asset Values ("NAVs") and final performance figures
  • Reconcile and approve client level monthly accounting data
  • Preparation of various marketing and client service documents and charts

Investment Support
  • Attribution reporting
  • Benchmark vs Portfolio analysis

Client Service
  • Maintenance and Preparation of data to support client communications
  • Prepare Newsletters and other marketing materials
  • Responding to client queries (email and phone)
  • Update quarterly databases
  • Maintain email lists and client details in the CRM database

Ad Hoc Project Work
  • When time and capacity allow, any firm‐wide projects are allocated to willing staff

The role requires:
  • Degree level education (2.1 minimum)
  • minimum 1/2+ year's work experience
  • Numerate (as evidenced by GCSE, A levels, Degree or professional qualification)
  • Microsoft Excel skills

The successful candidates must demonstrate:
  • Accuracy and attention to detail (This will be tested in the interview process)
  • Logical and systematic problem solving skills
  • Independence and self‐discipline
  • Dedication and strong work ethic
  • Ability / personality to work in a small team
