About the BlackRock London Returners Programme

The Returners programme is designed to encourage and support a return to full-time work for up to ten experienced candidates through a six-month paid Returnship starting in September 2022.

We are seeking experienced individuals who are client orientated and passionate about performance, who display collaborative and innovative mindsets, and bring an eclectic set of proficiencies to the workplace; prioritisation, analytical and organisational skills amongst others.

BlackRock is looking for candidates with prior experience in Investment Management or broader Financial Services, who have had a career break outside of Industry of at least two years (with no upper limit). You must have the right to work in the UK to apply for the programme.

Fundamental Equities, Research Analyst

Fundamental Equities sits within BlackRock's Portfolio Management Group (PMG), which encompasses Fundamental and Systematic investing across Fixed Income, Equities and Multi-Asset Strategies.

The Fundamental Equities (FE) business is a key division at BlackRock with over $250bn of assets under management, across 90+ strategies and over 200+ investment professionals. FE teams use traditional analytics to pick stocks and assemble coherent, deliberate and diversified portfolios. Through cutting edge technology, sophisticated models and embedded research, our investment management approach provides outstanding performance for our clients and is an important part of the BlackRock brand!

We are looking for talented Research Analysts to join our Investor teams such as our Natural Resources team, the Thematic team, our Global or Strategic investor teams. We are looking for people with financial analyst backgrounds that are able to research company fundamentals as well as understand equity market dynamics, in order to develop investment convictions that will lead to stock out-performance, to the benefit of our clients invested in our funds.

Research Analyst Competencies
  • Understanding of financial markets, investment theories and asset valuations
  • Strong research skills with strength in financial analysis/modelling
  • Deep understanding of business models, industry dynamics, and competitive analysis
  • Ability to synthesize and communicate large amounts of information in a succinct manner
  • Ability to think critically, with an aptitude to constructively debate and challenge ideas
  • Outstanding analytical and organizational skills
