About the BlackRock London Returners Programme

The Returners programme is designed to encourage and support a return to full-time work for up to ten experienced candidates through a six-month paid Returnship starting in September 2022.

We are seeking experienced individuals who are client orientated and passionate about performance, who display collaborative and innovative mindsets, and bring an eclectic set of proficiencies to the workplace; prioritisation, analytical and organisational skills amongst others.

BlackRock is looking for candidates with prior experience in Investment Management or broader Financial Services, who have had a career break outside of Industry of at least two years (with no upper limit). You must have the right to work in the UK to apply for the programme.

How will BlackRock support your return to work?

ETF Secondary and Options - Returners Program

EII is the division of BlackRock focussed on index investing, and roles range from portfolio management of index funds to roles that help support and build the index division. Within the ETF & Index Investing (EII) business the iShares Global Markets team is responsible for growing and protecting the trading of the iShares product suite - working alongside ecosystem partners to make trading in iShares ETFs more efficient and transparent.

The iShares Secondary Markets team sits within the Global Markets function and focusses on; actively monitoring the health of secondary market liquidity for iShares ETFs, relationship management with ecosystem stakeholders (market makers, exchanges, brokers etc), providing market insight to internal BLK teams and developing the ecosystem for ETF Options. This role will be focusing on the latter, with a candidate focusing on accelerating the growth of this business by independently formulating a business strategy to increase engagement with sales teams, clients and investment banks on this offering. A strong candidate will be comfortable communicating Options strategies with both internal and external parties, and help to build relationships that will continue to build advocacy for the use of ETF Options as hedging tools for downside management or market volatility.

  • Entrepreneurial with a self-starting attitude
  • Flexible, responsive with keen attention to detail
  • The ability to communicate efficiently in a fast-paced environment and take care of multiple time sensitive tasks at a time
  • Ability to co-ordinate commercial strategy, and deploy across multiple functions (including sales teams)
  • Experience with/ technical understanding of Options is an advantage
