Division Overview:
The Risk Model and Regulatory Oversight (RMRO) team is part of the Global Risk Methodology Group (RMG) and responsible for supervising RMG's compliance with all relevant Risk Model policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. RMRO works closely with the senior management of Nomura, preparing senior management committee pack, regulatory submission and other ad-hoc projects. The RMRO team liaise globally with departments across Risk Management, GM, Finance, Compliance and Change Management, amongst other areas.
Role Description:
This role is for an Associate level candidate to support the RMG CAO/Head of RMRO in carrying out responsibilities to support RMG's Risk Governance and Control. The candidate will be tasked with taking the lead on several areas within the RMRO space. Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Coordinating and producing for monthly senior management Committee and regulatory meeting materials
* Producing submission materials for Regulators
* Running monthly/quarterly/annual control and monitoring processes (BAU monitoring, RCSAs, Audit action, Model Changes, Policies & Procedures attestation) owned by RMG
* Managing Internal Audit engagements with RMG and tracking / managing audit issues and actions
* Coordinate internal training programme
* Assisting Regulatory meeting/submission coordination, including pulling materials together, action tracking and minutes taking
* Tracking regulatory deliverables/commitments
* Regular status update (Policies & Procedures, RCSA Actions, Audit Actions and Head Counts list & Org chart) to key RMG members
* Maintaining proper documentation of all the processes including for any regulatory assignments and attestation
* Coordinating controls for EUCs maintained by RMG
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:
Essential
* Several years' work experience (at least 4 years plus) in large-scale financial services institutions
* Good understanding of Risk Governance and Control
* Excellent communication (written and verbal)
* Strong attention to detail and produce accurate reporting with value added analysis
* Ability to work well under pressure and balance multiple conflicting demands
* Planning and Organisational skills - Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously to deadlines
* Delivery skills - Able to see through projects / tasks through to completion and work through potential obstacles and challenges in front of objectives / goals.
* Strong MS Office skills - Able to work with data sets in Excel and produce high quality visual presentations in PowerPoint
