Front Office VBA / Python Developer / Trading

Background:

The Front Office Developer will join their gas & power development team. You will be working on a specific project which is translating price forecasting software from VBA to Python.

Profile:

• Working within the development team with back-end developers to provide seamless support to the traders
• Interfacing between a Senior Developer and the Power Trading desk
• Building familiarity with internal software systems
• Ability to work independently and show exceptional initiative
• Building an understanding of commodity markets and how traders use internal and external software and data sources

Experience:

• Very strong VBA skills from a commercial environment is pre-requisite
• Commercial Python scripting experience highly desirable
• Strong academics / degree ideally in IT or equivalent
• The ability to work with stakeholders at all levels
• Ability to manage and prioritise workloads
