The Role:
An opportunity has arisen for a Finance Data Analyst to join the expanding M&G Plc UK Asset Data Management team. This role can be based in Stirling or Edinburgh.

M&G Plc UK has invested assets with a number of Investment Providers, and the information from these assets is required for a variety of purposes within Finance including Modelling, General Ledger, Cash Flow Matching and Financial Reporting disclosures. This role centres on the review, refinement & reconciliation of Investment data flows from these varied providers, supporting the timely delivery of quality reporting data. It therefore offers the opportunity to work on a large variety of interesting and challenging tasks, ultimately ensuring a solid control framework around the Asset Data. Through the performance of this role you will be instrumental in supporting the timely and accurate provision of regulatory Asset Data reporting to the PRA. To complement the existing team, we are ideally looking for someone with proven Asset Data knowledge.

This is an excellent opportunity to widen your knowledge and develop both your technical and softer skills. You will regularly work with a range of stakeholders and management across the business on a wide-range of deliverables and projects.

Key Responsibilities for this role:
  • Delivering quality reporting data and supporting analysis to internal and external stakeholders
  • Interrogation and analysis of large complex datasets
  • Maintenance and performance of strong data control checks ensuring quality output and clear audit trails
  • Resolve data issues through Interpretation of technical specification documents
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvements
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with data providers

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Working knowledge of asset data and reporting processes would be advantageous
  • Experience operating controls and implementing process improvements
  • Some awareness or familiarity of Solvency II QRT Reporting
  • Awareness of financial services legislator and regulatory frameworks
  • Awareness of IFRS and Solvency II Reporting requirements
  • Knowledge on Derivatives, including both OTC and ETD would be desirable
  • Attention to detail when handling significant quantities of data
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Ability to progress multiple work items concurrently, prioritising appropriately
