As a Barclays Prime Strategic Structurer you will facilitate client activity by optimizing both revenue and after-tax returns from financing and trading activity across Prime Equities. You will be joining the team who are responsible for developing financing and collateral solutions for the bank and its clients, including in relation to equity finance, delta-1 and equity-linked products. You will be delivering efficiencies by optimising existing activity, facilitating bespoke client transactions, and ensuring new business growth areas are structured to maximize returns from top line revenue growth.

What will you be doing?
• Developing and implementing strategic and structured solutions and transactions
• Leading and implementing transactions, collaborating with team members and stakeholders to deliver a high quality end product within tight deadlines
• Investigating and analysing the consequences of proposed solutions across a range of disciplines, agreeing the treatment and risks with the relevant control function
• Liaising with Prime Equities trading desks to develop, execute and manage the implementation of transactions and associated hedging arrangements
• Taking proposed transactions through internal approvals/governance, including drafting papers and briefing stakeholders
• Reviewing and negotiating transaction/legal documentation
• Monitoring non-trading risks, both financial and non-financial, and appropriately calibrating risk appetite
• Reviewing legal, tax, regulatory and accounting rules to understand potential application to the business, identifying risks / opportunities, and liaising with internal and external advisers
• Conducting financial modelling and data analysis in Microsoft Excel

What we're looking for:
• Qualified accountant or lawyer, ideally specialising in UK tax, or equivalent relevant experience working in a structuring team in an Investment Bank
• Experience in financial services and general knowledge of investment banking and financial markets along with basic quantitative skills i.e. financial modelling in Excel
• Inquisitiveness and desire to develop structuring skillset with application to Prime/Equities business

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Experience/understanding of the components, economics and application of financial instruments
• Understanding of accounting, regulatory, legal and tax concepts and application to Prime / Equities business
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, with a focus upon the use of Excel to complete data analysis
