As a Barclays Credit Risk Officer providing credit risk sanctioning decisions and utilising individual lending authority, once accredited to UK Private Bank (PB), International Private Bank, International Banking and Crown Dependencies (CD). This is a new role to fulfil business requirements in UK for a risk sanctioned dealing predominantly with regulated and unregulated mortgages and investment leverage facilities for UK and international clients.

Hybrid Working

What will you be doing?
• Ensuring the highest standards of credit risk management across the portfolio are maintained and are consistent with mandate and scale limits, credit policies, standards, and procedures.
• Providing an effective and efficient credit risk sanctioning service for the PB and CD, exercising daily sanctioning activity in line with discretion level assigned by PB Chief Credit Officer
• Ensuring risk adds value using expert lender experience to support deal teams - engaging early and providing input in local structuring of transactions as and when required
• Ensuring timely identification of adverse risks within the portfolio and early engagement / referral to Special Asset Management where appropriate
• Participating in broader PB/risk projects and initiatives as and when required
What we're looking for:
• A track record in credit risk management or credit administration environment
• Demonstration of a basic understanding of Risk/Underwriting considerations, a keen analytical mind and sound commercial judgement
• Product knowledge across UK market, including Mortgages, would be advantageous
• Understanding of Bank's policies in relation to People, Risk, Governance and Compliance
Skills that will help you in the role:
• An understanding of regulated/unregulated Mortgages
• Well organised with the ability to meet tight deadlines
• Personal resilience, comfortable with ambiguity and change
Where will you be working?
In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links. With a population of around 5000 staff the atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.
