1. About our Role

Fideres have been investigating corporate and financial wrongdoing for over 10 years, bringing advanced quantitative and data driven techniques to highly complex disputes involving competition infringement or financial instruments.

We are looking for a Financial Data Analyst to join our Securities Litigation Service team. Our Securities Litigation Service team are leading damages experts in securities fraud cases and have been involved in some of the most high profile cases, including RBS, Tesco, Steinhoff or Wirecard.

The successful candidate in this role will support the securities litigation team by liaising with investors and claimants to manage end-to-end data collection and reconciliation throughout the litigation cycle: from filing to settlement allocation.

Our ideal candidate might have 1-2 years' experience in a middle office role, or in the accounting or bookkeeping department, of an investment management firm, bank, or securities custodian, and is looking for an opportunity that will allow future growth into a broader financial analyst role.

2. Key Accountabilities
  • Sourcing and extraction of financial statements and/or transaction records from investors
  • Organising the financial data into databases
  • Managing large databases and data pools of transaction information
  • Reconciling, validating and analysing transaction data
  • Liaising with lawyers, claimants and other parties to ensure data integrity and managing the due diligence process
  • Calculating damages or settlement allocations and assisting the team with the production of reports for clients and or the courts
  • Other operational and analytical tasks as may be required from time to time

3. Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 3 A Levels (A* to B one of which must include Maths)
  • Degree preferred but not essential
  • Studying for bookkeeping or accounting qualifications
  • A sound understanding of financial securities and order flow management
  • 1-2 years' work experience in middle office or the accounting/bookkeeping department of a financial service firm (investment management firm, bank, custodian) is desirable but not essential
  • An understanding of financial malpractices (either academic or through relevant work experience)
  • PC skills including Microsoft Office, in particular Excel and PowerPoint
  • An interest in learning python programming language
