Job Summary & Responsibilities
Goldman Sachs Asset Management is the firm's investing platform, with over $2.4 trillion of assets under supervision across public and private side investing. Our Private Credit platform is one of the world's largest credit alternatives investing businesses with c$92bn of AUM, a team of 195+ investors and an unmatched global footprint.
COO Team associates work with Private Credit leadership to implement strategic initiatives; manage investing processes alongside other internal stakeholders; engage with external investors; drive technology initiatives designed to increase business efficiency and information sharing; execute processes designed to comply with regulatory and reporting requirements; perform analytics to assess business performance and portfolio condition; and work closely with deal teams on the execution and ongoing monitoring of investments. The associate role will require coordinating these efforts in EMEA alongside of the Global Credit COO and team members in New York and Dallas.
The COO Team is at the locus of a number of workflows and processes. The COO team associate will work closely with stakeholders both within and outside of Private Credit - Private Credit leadership, deal teams located around the world, the Funds and Administration and CFO teams, Engineering, Fundraising, Sustainability & Impact, Credit, Operations and other Control areas of the Firm -- in order to facilitate efficient business processes and operations, provide highest quality information to our investors, ensure compliance with regulatory standards and provide support to Private Credit leadership.
This is a broad-ranging role with a dynamic mandate, depending on the business's needs at any given time.
Responsibilities include:
  • Supporting Private Credit leadership: executing on key business priorities; drafting strategy presentations that communicate key messages effectively; implementing reporting processes to enhance Private Credit leadership's ability to monitor the business in real time
  • Running portfolio analytics including regular weekly reporting and ad hoc analyses to support business decision-making
  • Creating marketing and fundraising materials and other presentations designed to communicate business objectives and capabilities both externally and internally
  • Engaging in data capture and validation exercises
  • Working with Asset Management Engineering to design, test and implement business planning and workflow technology solutions
  • Working with Control side teams to design, implement and execute processes necessary to ensure compliance with regulatory and/or Firm requirements
  • Working with Private Credit deal teams and other stakeholders to ensure that investment execution and monitoring are carried out in accordance with required processes
  • Coordinating ad hoc requests from across the firm and Private Credit investors
  • Coordinating regularly-scheduled Asset Management Credit meetings
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Very strong analytical skills and high degree of detail orientation
  • Strong writing skills and ability to create engaging, dynamic presentations
  • Proactivity; must be a self-starter with deep sense of ownership of work product and ability to drive projects independently
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent multi-tasking abilities and ability to prioritize
  • Problem solving nature and ability to operationalize conceptual objectives
  • Ability to identify and implement solutions that appropriately balance business needs and a control perspective
  • Ability to be responsive outside workday hours (including weekends) given global nature of role and deal timelines
  • Prior experience in debt products appreciated but not required
