This is a key role in the Institutional Services UKMEA ("IS UKMEA") legal team, advising the IS UKMEA business on the legal aspects of their activities .

This is a key role in the Institutional Services UKMEA ("IS UKMEA") legal team, advising the IS UKMEA business on the legal aspects of their activities .
Role specifics
- Drafting and negotiating, and advising on, a broad range of service arrangements, including custody, fund accounting, middle office outsourcing, investment analytics and collateral management services for a variety of UKMEA clients including asset managers, official institutions, asset owners and insurance companies
- Considering the legal implications of regulations applicable to the IS UKMEA business' operations and/or the services that it provides (including the FCA rules, in particular CASS and COBS)
- Advising on legal issues related to new business development initiatives, including negotiating and drafting heads of terms documents, and reviewing and advising on tender documentation
- Working with senior and executive legal, business, risk and compliance stakeholders to ensure that outcomes meet the requirements, priorities and deadlines of the business
- Proactively providing local support to corporate legal initiatives, and new product and business developments, including drafting new template agreements
- Collaborating with, and coordinating input from, lawyers in other business lines and jurisdictions
- Instructing and managing external counsel
Qualifications:
- minimum 5 years PQE
Skills and Experience
- City law firm background
- Strong commercial contract drafting and negotiation, written and verbal communication skills, ability to formulate legal advice and positions clearly and concisely in a commercial environment
- Investment services and/or asset management experience
- Solution-oriented, intellectual flexibility to work through complex issues with multiple stakeholders and to propose workable solutions within tight deadlines
- Quick learner and team player with a proactive 'can do' approach
- Ability to build good relationships with variety of stakeholders
