Who we're looking for

An Investment Product Analyst to join the product management function within Schroders' Quantitative Equity Products (QEP) team. The purpose of this role is to provide support to our Investment Directors and the broader Investment team enabling the delivery of high quality, valuable content for our strategies and mandates while continually assessing ways to increase efficiencies.

As an Investment Product Analyst, you will work within the Investment team while also helping provide vital information to the Marketing, Sales and Client teams. You will work closely with our Investment Directors to produce high quality materials, gather information and provide analysis for existing mandates and strategies and support the development of new mandates, strategies and processes.

The team

Established in 1996, Schroders' QEP Investment team has a 22 year investment track record and has developed an innovative range of global equity strategies. With 27 experienced members of staff located in London, New York and Sydney the team manages in excess of £18 billion for predominantly institutional clients, including pension funds, sovereign wealth funds and insurance companies, all over the world.

What you'll do

The Investment Product Analyst role is vital to our Investment and Product divisions. You will be responsible for providing desk wide support, delivering reporting to meet our existing client obligations and providing materials to aide client meetings and new business wins. Investment Product Analysts also play a pivotal part in supporting information flow to support the Sales teams within Distribution and their interactions with Schroders' clients.

There are a number of aspects to the role which will include the production of high quality presentations for client meetings and new business pitches, manipulation and interpretation of performance and attribution data, the completion of RFPs and due diligence requests and the maintenance of global consultant databases along with the management & timely delivery of ad-hoc client request. The successful candidate will be required to maintain product-related data, including management information, and provide support for the firm's global sales force and other stakeholders, responding to queries and requests for information.

A more specific list of responsibilities includes the following:

• Provide ongoing mandate and strategy support to Investment Directors and the wider Investment team
• Prepare client reporting packages on monthly and quarterly reporting cycles (creating report basics, obtaining data, formatting of bespoke requirements, driving automation etc.)
• Gathering data and preparation of PowerPoint presentations for client pitches, portfolio review meetings and conferences
• Continually developing knowledge of the team's investment strategies and process
• Respond to ad-hoc queries from internal counterparties (encouraging self-serve where possible)
• Writing, updating and maintaining product language and data in the RFP database
• Review and contribute to more standard content of DDQ/RFI/RFP
• Understand regulatory sign off requirements and processes
• Contribution to the development of new strategies and materials
• Conduct various aspects of portfolio analysis as required (e.g. performance drivers, allocation changes, risk profile etc)

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

• Team oriented ability to work collaboratively to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders including Investment, Product and Distribution teams
• Reliable stakeholder management ensuring the needs of clients and key stakeholders are met in a timely, professional manner, seeking to become a reliable and trusted partner
• Diligence strong attention to detail and the ability to pick up and take ownership for resolving errors
• Effective communicator & responsive (both written & verbal) proactively picking up tasks, responding to calls and emails promptly with a sense of urgency. Communication style is enthusiastic, professional and articulate
• Efficient, well-organised & proactive ability to plan and deliver on workload, typically against a backdrop of changing priorities and competing deadlines through effective prioritisation and multi-tasking. Seeks to develop the knowledge and ability to anticipate needs from around the business and organize work accordingly while seeking ways to increase ownership
• Strong technical abilities to enable efficient data manipulation and analysis, interpreting the data to draw out key conclusions and commercial messages. In addition, having the propensity to learn new systems that may help the broader desk (i.e. Aladdin Explore, Eikon)
• Resilient Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Inquisitive Eager to learn more about investment markets, the team's investment strategies and our business as well as the competitor landscape
• A growth mid-set, actively seeking opportunities for personal development with an openness to feedback
• All rounder with the Investment Product Analyst role so varied the ability to build proficiencies across a range of areas and skillsets is key in excelling in the role

The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Familiarity with performance & attribution methodologies
• Awareness and interest in equities markets and the asset management industry
• Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in a numeric field
• IMC and or CFA (or the ambition to do so)
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
