Job Purpose
• Responsible for leading on actuarial pricing initiatives for the Wealth Division, including proposing assumptions, analysing profitability, producing pricing reports and working with the second line teams to ensure approval.
• Initiating and overseeing the production of regular new business profitability reporting for Wealth products and production of management information.
• Overseeing the work of a student actuary and pricing technician.
• Reports to the Head of Pricing & Product Management.

Key Accountabilities
• Responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of pricing analysis and pricing support for business initiatives within the Division, including experience analysis, and the production of high quality pricing papers.
• Work with the actuarial and risk oversight teams within the business to ensure they are able to carry out their oversight of Wealth pricing initiatives effectively.
• Initiating and overseeing the production of regular new business profitability reporting for Wealth products, and the production of MI for Committee meetings as well as other regular pricing tasks, ensuring that these are produced in a timely and accurate manner.
• Manage, coach, develop and motivate a team consisting of an actuarial student and pricing technician in order to optimise performance in line with the Divisions objectives. Reviewing the recommendations of qualified and part-qualified actuaries and providing feedback.
• Support the Head of Pricing & Product Management in ensuring that risks relating to Wealth Pricing are effectively overseen, including regular review of appropriate actuarial controls and analysis. Ensuring that our own internal pricing and modelling policies are appropriately adhered to.

Desired Knowledge / Experience / Skills
• Strong commercial awareness and pricing experience. Will be able to apply technical actuarial techniques and understand business/commercial implications to the Wealth Division
• Proven ability to lead on deliveries, utilising experience to deliver complex pieces of work on-time, in-full.
• Strong communication skills, demonstrating a clear and articulate standard of written and verbal communication in a complex environment, tailored for all levels of management.
• Strong influencing skills, with experience of engaging with the wider business in order to get desired outcome. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain a variety of relationships with multiple stakeholders
• Exceptional problem solving skills and attention to detail with demonstrable ability in spotting issues, interdependencies and challenges to ensure work is produced to an accurate, commercial and informed standard.
• Strong skills and experience in managing and motivating a team
• Self-motivated, well-organised, pragmatic and able to perform tasks independently
Qualifications
Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (or equivalent).
