The firm's Consumer business, Marcus by Goldman Sachs, combines the entrepreneurial spirit of a startup with more than 150 years of experience. Today, we serve millions of customers across multiple products including lending, deposits, financial tools, and our partnership with Apple on Apple Card. We use innovative design, data, engineering and other core capabilities to provide customers with powerful tools and products that are grounded in value, transparency and simplicity. As we build a leading digital consumer bank and expand into new products and partnerships, we are looking for leaders and individual contributors to join our team.

Role
As an experienced Product Designer for Marcus UK, you will have a track record of delivering compelling digital experiences driven by a strong user-centric approach to design. You are a multi-faceted designer with experience across full cycle of product delivery (with strong emphasis on UX/UI) who works best within a team solving complex problems and translating those solutions into elegantly simple, intuitive and inclusive experiences.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with product owners and engineers, to define business problems and aims.
  • Define user experience for both existing and upcoming Marcus products supporting strategic vision of the business
  • Aim for, and uphold UX consistency across Marcus UK and US desktop and mobile
  • Advocate for best UX practices while balancing the technical constraints
  • Create personas, user maps, user journeys, low fidelity concepts, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and final high-fidelity UI
  • Continuously develop the craft of UX and UI pushing the creativity and innovation at Marcus UK
  • Operate within and contribute to Marcus design system
  • Validate design decisions through user testing
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of professional UX/UI experience designing digital products
  • Strong user-centric approach to design with the desire to get to the heart of what our users need
  • Well-versed in digital design methodologies and utilising them to translate user needs into exceptional, innovative and inclusive experiences
  • Strong ability to work within a defined design system and style
  • Strong body of work presenting the design process from ideation/concept to delivery
  • Comfortable managing their own workload and collaborating with peers in and out of the discipline
  • Experience working in agile framework
  • Great presentation, storytelling and communication skills
  • Keen eye for detail, readiness to evolve and adapt solutions in a highly-regulated environment, give and receive constructive feedback
  • Fluent in Figma
  • Passionate about solving large-scale problems and simplifying complexity
Preferred Qualifications
  • Consumer banking or FinTech experience
