Role Summary:

The Financial Reporting team at M&G Investments is responsible for the financial, statutory and regulatory reporting for the M&G Investments Group. Key customers include Group Finance, regulators and numerous Boards / Committees. A vacancy has arisen for the role of Manager of the Regulatory & Capital Reporting team. The role covers a broad range of responsibilities including regulatory reporting, capital forecasting, dividend planning, MI production, and ownership of key sections of the ICARA. In general the role-holder will be recognised as the subject matter expert regarding the regulatory and capital position of M&G Investments Group and its subsidiaries. The role-holder will report into the Head of Financial Reporting at M&G Investments and be a key member of the leadership team.

Key Responsibilities of the role include:
  • Accountable for the production of all prudential capital reporting across the M&G consolidated group (M&G) and the solo regulated entities (solo entities), ensuring submissions maintain the highest standard of integrity, transparency and quality.
  • Production of the internal MI on capital metrics, including actual and forecast numbers for both capital and liquidity.
  • Production of quarterly capital generation figures, a key performance indicator of the wider M&G plc Group.
  • Maintenance of the capital model to accurately forecast future capital resources and requirements based on the latest business strategy.
  • Management of the dividend process within M&G Investments with regard to both capital and liquidity, and recommend to the Boards of M&G Group and its subsidiaries the level / composition of dividends payable.
  • Responsibility for key sections of the ICARA, including review of the methodology and calculation of certain capital requirements, stress testing, recovery plans and wind down framework.
  • Production of MI which monitors performance of the seeding portfolio and considers the capacity to accommodate new seeding investment.
  • Responsibility for the calculation of FCA fees, a significant cost for the business, including reviewing the application of prudential regulations to calculate the submission data.
  • Development of the capability of the regulatory reporting team; leading, mentoring and professionally developing people, making best and highest use of talent, fostering a culture of collaboration and promoting and delivering the benefits of working collaboratively
  • Maintenance of the control environment, to ensure it is fit for purpose and meets regulatory requirements. Work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls.

Knowledge & Experience:
To ensure your success in this role you will be/have:
  • An accountancy qualification (e.g. CA, ACA, ACCA) with significant post-qualified experience.
  • Expert knowledge of the regulatory reporting requirements of an investment management group.
  • Detailed level of knowledge of the financial dynamics of the investment management business and how key factors influence regulatory capital metrics.
  • An excellent understanding of Risk management principles within investment management.

It is desirable for the candidate to have a:
  • Good track record of team leadership within a complex, global financial services business.
  • Good knowledge of industry trends, best practice and developments; links with external bodies and individuals in the same field.
  • Good knowledge of IFPR implementation.
