About our client
We are working with a successful and growing family office with a wide range of operational businesses in their portfolio, spanning clean energy, technology, oil and gas, real estate & hospitality. They are looking for an Investment Director/Principal to join their team in London and focus on new investments and portfolio management.
What the job involves
  • Responsible for the development of strategic direction & style of the company's investment activities and its execution
  • Utilise and enhance the existing network to originate growth opportunities and build trusted relationships with the people behind the target businesses/partnerships
  • Financial analysis of investments, including financial modelling, financing and tax assumptions, IRRs, output sensitivities, and research to support key underwriting assumptions
  • Lead the delivery of transactions including oversight of team members managing the process and leading any commercial discussions and contract negotiations
  • Grow, mentor and develop team and manage work allocation, systems training, performance evaluations, and the building of an effective and efficient team dynamic
Who we are looking for
  • Experience working in venture capital, private equity, and corporate finance with solid financial modelling and valuation expertise, experience working on the buy-side is preferable
  • Strong background in financial analysis, financial modelling and risk management
  • Experience of working with tech startups at early stages as a founder, advisor, investor etc.
  • Ability to resolve complex, controversial or unprecedented issues and problems, and demonstrate sound judgement by considering values, risks, impact and implications of actions throughout the Company
  • Well-organised, detail-oriented, ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines
  • Experience of portfolio management or complex project delivery experience
