About Us

LGPS Central Limited is an FCA regulated fund management company, owned by and managing the pooled assets of eight Midlands-based local government pension funds.

With combined assets of approximately £45bn, and representing the retirement savings of over 900,000 scheme members across over 2000 employers, The volume of assets under management is expected to grow rapidly over the next few years, particularly in the private markets area, as new pooled funds are developed and launched.

The Role
You will work with your peers in the Private Markets team to support the build out of a professional, high performing investment function.

Specific responsibilities will include working on investing the Private Market funds and direct investments, managing the investment portfolio, expected to exceed £6bn over the next few years, and ensuring adherence to relevant responsible investment and risk and compliance policies.

This fantastic opportunity will involve originating, analysing, performing due diligence on and monitoring investments, and will involve extensive contact both with our investors and with potential managers.

The role is challenging and rewarding and requires a competent, analytical self-starter who can effectively support the team deliver its objectives.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will hold a degree level qualification and/or a relevant industry qualification with experience of financial analysis of illiquid alternative investments of 5 years plus. You will be expected to continuously update your learning and knowledge in post.
  • Experience of investment/financial analysis within private markets, preferably gained with an asset manager or other financial institution.
  • Demonstrated skill in originating, analysing and recommending investments, documenting the rationale for making investments and monitoring them once selected.
  • High degree of professional ethics, integrity and gravitas.
  • Excellent judgement and analytical skills.
  • First class interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills.

Qualifications
  • Relevant degree and/or professional qualification
  • IMC gained and working towards CFA, CAIA or similar qualification or relevant investment experience would be a plus.
