THE POSITION

The role exists within the Enterprise Risk Management Division, as part of the EMEA Compliance team, reporting to the Compliance Officer, Corporate Compliance. This individual will administer and oversee the firm's Global Privacy Programme, including but not limited tothe development, implementation, and maintenance of policies and procedures, daily operations of the programme, monitoring programme compliance, investigation and tracking of incidents and breaches, and ensuring compliance with global laws.

The role requires strong collaborative relationships with other senior stakeholders in the organization, including managers from Human Resources, the Client Group, Information Technology, Legal, Compliance, and Risk and may also interface with external parties as required.

Essential responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

* Acting as the firm's data privacy subject matter expert/spokesperson, both internally and externally;

* Enhancing the global privacy framework;

* Drafting, communicating, and overseeing privacy policies and procedures;

* Assessing privacy-related risks arising from the firm's operations;

* Assisting the business in designing controls for managing privacy compliance;

* Leading incident responses, including data breach preparedness;

* Monitoring the effectiveness of privacy-related risk mitigation and compliance measures;

* Driving privacy-related awareness and training among employees;

* Partnership with the Chief Information Security Officer to ensure alignment between information security and privacy programs;

* Continued assessment and interpretation of new global privacy laws and their applicability.

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate is likely to have the following qualifications:

* 5+ years' professional experience; financial services industry a plus;

* Experience serving as a Data Privacy Officer or advising companies on privacy program design, implementation, and governance;

* Sound understanding of global data protection laws, including but not limited to GDPR;

* CIPP certification desirable;

* Excellent communication, listening, and writing skills;

* Strong presentation skills; demonstrated ability to present to committee boards and senior management;

* Pragmatic and comfortable working with ambiguity;

* Strong attention to detail and well organized; ability to prioritize, multi-task and work well under pressure;

* Ability to think strategically and have vision while also focusing on the details and execution;

* Self-motivated and works well independently; capable of taking initiative without prompting;

* Strong problem solving techniques, including the ability to identify, research and resolve unfamiliar issues and ability to clearly communicate issues to key stakeholders;

* Ability to collaborate across departments with a professional presence; proven ability to cultivate and maintain strong business relationships at all levels within the organization.
