Through its extensive global network of experts and partners the firm looks to provide deal flow, relationships, expertise, and capital, with the objective of building a world-class platform for impact investment funds across the world.
What the job involves
The firm is looking for a Director of Impact to join the team in London to lead the development and implementation of the firm's impact strategy and framework at the corporate level, and work across strategies and products to design and develop an impact management framework.
  • Create and optimise the over-arching impact strategy and framework to; support the mission, vision and theory of change; helping the firm to evaluate potential investment products from an impact perspective; provide appropriate consistency across the diverse investment products and strategies; and enable reporting to the firm's investors on the impact being achieved by the platform
  • Work with the investment teams on defining and developing the individual frameworks for each of the investment strategies, including the impact thesis and goals for the product; the process for integrating impact into investment decision making; the systems and processes to manage and to measure impact through on-going monitoring; and the partnerships and processes to assure impact and report results to the product's investors
  • Determine an appropriate resourcing model for both the creation and execution of the impact frameworks for each of the investment strategies, partnering with third-party technical experts when necessary
  • Empower and influence the investees of the strategies and products to advance the impact management frameworks, including the provision of technical guidance and support, through coaching and sharing of best practice
  • Establish a 'centre of excellence' for impact, continuing to advise, consult and oversee individual impact frameworks and associated impact teams for each of the products, ensuring all products align and contribute to the overarching impact strategy
  • Manage, coordinate, and execute the collection of impact data from across the investment strategies, providing support for timely, accurate, and consistent reporting
  • Execute the data analysis and interpretation and produce the impact reports at the corporate level in alignment with industry standards and frameworks, with the ability to turn impact data into meaningful stories for the organisation and the investors
  • Manage relationships with external partners to support the firm's impact practice
  • Maintain an understanding of international best practice on impact management to ensure that the approach, policies and procedures remain best-in-class
  • Share impact performance insights with investor relations colleagues
  • Provide expert guidance and impact training for management, investment, and investor relations teams to enable deeper impact integration across the business

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in a related discipline
  • Knowledge and understanding of key frameworks and metrics in impact measurement methodologies
  • Strong analytical and methodological skills, with the ability to identify "right-fit" methods and think in a commercial, creative, and pragmatic way
  • An entrepreneurial nature and the ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, with a keen ability to synthesise and present complex data in a simple, compelling, meaningful way
  • Ability to engage with fund managers, portfolio companies and institutional LP clients
  • Demonstrable capability for independent judgment is critical; ability to independently plan, organise and prioritise work
  • Proven team player with demonstrable capability of mentoring junior staff; building working partnerships and promoting collaboration in the workplace
  • Ability to perform in a start-up environment with a problem-solving and solutions-oriented mindset. Takes ownership for outcomes, a self-starter, and is personally accountable for results
