This is a London-based role. Initially, you will work in the Energy Technology team supporting the Senior Vice President / CEO in the development of the e-mobility business.

Ultimately, it is envisaged that this role will transfer into a dedicated EV platform business at which point, as Operations Director, you will be responsible for establishing and leading high performing teams tasked with delivering electric vehicle (EV) charging and energy infrastructure, assets and services to both public and private sector B2B clients, across Europe.

You will be a key member of the senior leadership team tasked with building long-term strategies and teams capable of delivering across core functions such as engineering, project management, asset management, field services and customer services. You will be expected to present progress reports and strategies to the CEO, board of directors, shareholders and senior executives within client organisations (including private and public sector). You will be expected to engage with industry bodies and regulators on matters relating to business activities, ensuring the interests of the company are always considered.

In your role as Operations Director, you will interface with wider internal teams, clients, partners, suppliers, and consultancies and will be expected to be an ambassador for the business during any external engagement. You will be responsible for the contractual sign-off of project and system design, accountable for site and office based QHS&E, responsible for the control of operational expenditure, project capital expenditure, asset management and customer facing functions (field and customer services).

You will be expected to build the Operations function across Engineering, Project Management and Service Delivery (office and field based) capable of delivering a high value, infrastructure projects across Europe. You will be expected to recruit and develop high performing people, define and implement best practice and ensure the business is capable of working to and gaining accreditation to industry standards and assurance schemes (e.g. ISO9001, 15001, 45001). You will always take a client -centric approach, providing the highest standard of customer care whilst supporting our customers in their transition to EVs, optimising their costs and carbon emissions.

For success in this role, you would have held senior positions in a similar role within the energy, construction, transport or facilities management (FM) sectors. You will have experience and proven track record of being accountable for multi-million pound electrical engineering contracts, creating and leading multi-discipline teams, managing costs and QHS&E and creating a working culture or inclusion, openness and trust. You will have the drive to deliver an outstanding customer experience (from EV driver to company director) from initial engagement to the end of the contract term.

Ideally, you will have experience of working across European markets and associated language skills are highly regarded.

If you possess a strong sense of accountability, are able to focus on details while maintaining a holistic view, enjoy collaboration across functional and geographic boundaries, and want to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, we want to hear from you.

Transfer within EV Business

We anticipate that in 2022 your employment may transfer to the company which is being incorporated to house GIG's European EV Platform, along with other employees of the Employer who are assigned to that business. The Employer will provide information to you regarding the terms of that transfer in due course.
