As an experienced Project Manager, this is an excellent opportunity for you to join our Projects & Change team, within the Financial Management Group. We are curious, generous and bold in delivering projects that support the efficient and effective operation of Macquarie Group as a whole.

What impact will you have?

As the Project Manager responsible for leading the Legal Entity Rationalisation project, you will work with a team of SME's and business stakeholders to deliver dissolutions and mergers to facilitate the simplification of the Macquarie Group Structure.

Given the significant impact on business operations and processes, building and maintaining business buy-in to the project will be crucial. As such, you will be an astute people manager who has a proven track record of managing stakeholder relationships at all levels.

Day-to-day, you will manage the end-to-end project lifecycle in a timely and efficient manner. In partnership with the Program Office, you will establish project governance, produce high quality project artefacts and reporting, manage risks and issues, produce and track budgets. Other responsibilities will include:
  • co-ordinate regular forums to address issues, review status and manage key actions
  • work with the central programme office to implement robust change management and communications plans
  • ensure the timely identification and triage of project issues and risks
  • develop and maintain high quality project artefacts and reporting
  • manage project budgets and financials
  • manage global teams across multiple regions

What skills will you use?

You will be an experienced project manager who is looking to finesse their delivery of complex restructures and dissolutions. However, with expected delivery of the Legal Entity Rationalisation project in 2024, you will then have the opportunity to explore what is next as a part of Macquarie's broader projects & change team.

Macquarie's projects environment is fast-paced and outcomes-focused and as such, you will have tenacity, agility and a proven ability to sustain high levels of performance. You will be enthused by leading and initiating conversations with business leaders regarding anticipated and emerging opportunities.

With outstanding verbal and written communication skills, you will work with a variety of internal global stakeholders to plan resource allocations necessary to deliver your workstream. Your ability to manage, influence and motivate stakeholders will be assumed. You'll need to be able to co-ordinate multiple assignments, follow established governance, be curious and intuitive in your problem solving, as well as continually drive improvement.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:
  • prior experience delivering regulatory or Finance-led projects in a global banking environment
  • proven structured problem solving, analytical and quantitative skills
  • sound commercial judgement
  • strong negotiation and project management skills coupled with the ability to present to senior key stakeholders
  • demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with senior internal stakeholders
  • strong people management skills
  • a degree in accounting/finance/or STEM related subject, a CA/CPA/CIM qualification
