Investment Analyst - Renewable Energy
In this role, you will support the Investment Valuations Manager to build, manage and simplify models used to assess the financial implications of various planned investments and due diligence initiatives . You will have experience taking complex DCF models and managing assumptions of DEVEX, CAPEX, OPEX, tax and revenue to help the leadership team make decisions. In addition, you will provide other finance support to the business including executing analysis on market opportunities to support business development or M&A activities. The ideal person will have worked for an investment bank, lending advisor, consultancy or corporate finance team of renewable energy developer building large scale renewable energy infrastructure, energy generation or offshore assets. Experience following through transactions is important.
This is an exciting role that will allow you to be at the forefront of offshore renewable energy projects in the North Sea, Baltic Sea and USA from the perspective of the developer. The Role
- Lead the building, development and maintenance of financial valuation/bid models taking into consideration due diligence findings and other commercial, technical, financial and taxation inputs
- Manage and coordinate the inputs for financial models
- Support business development/project acquisition due diligence and project financing for potential investments in the energy sector
- Support the preparation of investment cases
- Ensure accuracy and clarity of Board papers
- Perform regional market and competitive analysis as requested to support entry into new project opportunities
Requirements
- Degree qualification in finance, engineering or science
- 3-8 years' energy finance experience (investment banking, project finance, M&A)
- Strong financial modelling experience and ability to build models and analyse a deal from an equity / debt finance perspective
- Track record working debt finance projects for on offshore wind, renewable energy or large energy infrastructure projects.
- Understanding of key value drivers and return metrics, through the value chain from development to operations
- Ability to be proactive and multi-task to prioritise workload and efficiently manage time
- Strong communication skills and ability to present complex investment cases and ask difficult questions.
