Omnis Investments are a specialist investment company whose investment funds are available exclusively through financial advisers that are part of The Openwork Partnership - one of the largest personal financial advice networks in the UK with over 4,200 financial advisers, based in nearly 700 firms, and supported by 600 colleagues in central teams.

Omnis is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority ("FCA") and is the Authorised Corporate Director to the [UCITS] Omnis ICVCs, and the operator of 26 sub funds. In this capacity Omnis conducts various activities that are regulated by the FCA. Omnis operates a largely outsourced operating model and utilises best of breed partners to conduct its day-to-day activities. However, Omnis retains accountability for any outsourced activities and oversees the contracted third parties, utilising agreed Service Level Agreement deliverables, reporting, data analysis and trend analysis, all serviced through regular and collaborative relationship management.

The opportunity

In this role you will support the Omnis Middle Office Officer in operationally overseeing the Omnis fund range and operational relationships with its investment management delegates. You'll act as the operational conduit to the Investment Managers for queries and issue resolution and ensuring delegated operational activities are delivered to time, quality and with minimal risk to the Omnis business.

The job holder will work to understand the nature of the assets within the funds, why those assets are held and be able to appreciate the resultant risks. As well as working with other team members to deliver comprehensive processes and procedures to support the operational model of the business.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • You'll have operational oversight of Omnis' investment management operations in line with service level agreement expectations.
  • Originate and collate responses to several investment management oversight and reporting requirements identifying trends and anticipating issues. Key is the effective management of, plus any remedial actions, to minimise late trades, overdrafts, failed trades cash/stock breaks by understanding the investment management tradeflow for all asset types.
  • Conduct a range of analysis activities against the funds' attributes. Namely days to liquidate monitoring, counterparty exposure analysis, performance monitoring and daily post trade (Investment & Borrowing Power) reviews. Review queries and trends, liaising with the Omnis Investment Team and Omnis Compliance on resolution, as required. Ensure there is a clear audit trail for anomalies and resolving actions.
  • Support the investment management on-going due diligence review programme. Provide the necessary inputs to the investment managers and outputs to the relevant Committees to provide a robust review of relevant systems and controls.
  • Support the Omnis Middle Office Officer in the operational implementation of new or replacement Investment Manager selections, supporting due diligence and contract negotiation processes and transition activity, as required.
  • Input to effective project plans and resolve issues/actions with effective, proactive follow up mechanisms.
  • Create monthly Fund Fact Sheets and Portfolio Fact Sheets ensuring data and narrative content are accurate.
  • Share secretariat responsibility for meetings and Committees, as required and, provide the appropriate inputs and packs for the Committees and Board. (includes standard agendas, detailed file notes and Committee reporting).
  • Support other Omnis change management programmes. Activities could include: Fund mergers and closures, systems and process changes, platform migrations, discretionary product launches and supporting regulatory change.
  • Liaise with the Compliance team to facilitate effective monitoring activities and support audit activity, as required. Conduct periodic review of ESG and Stewardship outputs from Investment Managers against typical minimum standards.
  • Support the CEO, Omnis Investment and Marketing teams in the production of MI and reporting using third party systems such as Financial Express, Style Analytics and StatPro, as required.
  • Operate on a rota basis or deputise for other team members, as required. Most likely is the daily completion of unit creation/redemption checks, NAV reviews or standard reporting.
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner to minimise any potential Customer, risk, or financial impact.
  • As a shared task across the team, be able to support discretionary asset allocation and rebalancing tasks on a number of Platforms. This may require some occasional flexibility to start early or stay later.

What will you need to succeed?
  • We're looking for an enthusiastic middle office administrator, who has an understanding of the trade lifecycle, settlement, and custody processes.
  • Ideally, you'll hold the CISI Investment Operations Certificate, or equivalent.
  • Have started, or is willing to work towards, IMC.
  • An understanding of each stage of the investment operations process (e.g. tradeflow, settlements, custody, dealing etc.).
  • An understanding of different asset types.
  • An understanding of UCITS collective investment schemes
  • Third Party service provider/oversight management skills. The Jobholder will be required to challenge and direct Investment Manager operations, ensuring they deliver services to the agreed Service Level and Investment Management Agreements (SLA and IMA).
  • An appreciation of investment platforms and UK distribution structures preferred.
  • A good understanding of industry best practice with regards to Conduct Risk, TCF and "Customer Outcomes".
