DevOps Engineer

As a Barclays DevOps Engineer, you'll join the team responsible for the delivery, stability and supportability of the Front-Office risk platform supporting the Equity Derivatives business. You'll implement and champion DevOps and SRE best practices while developing automation and observability solutions and collaborating with other technology teams across the globe as well Front Office users and First-Line support teams.

What will you be doing?
• You will be responsible for the analysis, design, development, deployment and hand-over to the end users of the solutions developed within the team
• Ensuring these solutions meet our Control and Security requirements and help improve the stability of our platform, yet allowing higher volume of changes and activity
• Ensuring we increase the productivity of our wider engineering team
• Adopting and promoting best practices within the larger team and organization
• Achieving, and championing, our Excellence in Execution objectives

Hybrid Working

What we're looking for:
• Proficiency in at least one scripting programming language
• Experience with large and complex distributed systems
• Experience with successfully implementation monitoring and operational data analysis solutions
• Experience with successfully deploying automation solutions

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Proficiency in Java 11 or above with understanding of multithreading
• Proven ability to pick up and learn new technologies
• Experience with implementing SRE practices
• Experience with implementing automation and Observability solutions
• Some data analysis understanding

Where will you be working?
5 North Colonnade is home to our investment bank and is in the heart of Canary Wharf, just a short walk from our headquarters at Churchill Place.
