About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Compliance Manager for the EMEA Control Group. This team forms part of the broader Enterprise Compliance Control Group ('ECCG'). ECCG then is part of the broader Enterprise Compliance Operations team ('ECO') that reports to the Chief Compliance Officer of Wells Fargo Corporation.

In this role, you will:
  • Manage a team responsible for working with senior management in implementing, updating, monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures reasonably designed to prevent and detect the potential misuse of material non-public information (MNPI).
  • Appropriately challenge the Front Line's execution of their compliance responsibilities when it comes to information barrier controls and personal account trading activities
  • Provide compliance risk and regulatory subject matter expertise for compliance program elements related to personal account trading and information barriers
  • Recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development
  • Manage coordination and communication with leadership regarding compliance risks
  • Implement strategic initiatives with high risk and complexity
  • Make decisions and resolve issues to meet business objectives
  • Interpret policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with and influence at all levels of employees including managers
  • Lead team to achieve objectives
  • Manage communication and collaboration with business leaders, Legal, Audit, and regulators on risk related topics
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Compliance
  • Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent
  • Lead and oversee the implementation of an IT book of work associated with the teams information barrier related platforms
Job Expectations:

The EMEA Control Group manager is a Compliance Manager role within the broader Enterprise Compliance Operations Team ('ECO'). The EMEA Control Group is responsible for working with senior management in implementing, updating, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures reasonably designed to prevent and detect the potential misuse of material non-public information (MNPI). The EMEA Control Group manager is responsible for managing a team of approximately four compliance officers focused on executing the responsibilities of the Global Control Group. The manager has responsibilities for ensuring the key processes and controls performed by the team are completed pursuant to procedure and carried out timely. The manager will be expected to provide dynamic leadership with a commitment to challenge, motivate and develop talent. Collaborating with the other regional Control Groups, Business Aligned Compliance Officers, the business and Legal to implement and advise (and credibly challenge the business) on information barrier related controls and issues that may arise. The manager will also participate in regulatory exams and internal audit engagements as applicable and is the primary escalation point within EMEA related to the Control Group. Lastly, the manager will participate in the execution of the technology book of work associated with a Global Control Group suite of applications.

Specific job responsibilities of the EMEA Control Group include but are not limited to maintain the firms Watch and Restricted Lists, facilitating wall crossings, pre-clearing research reports prior to public dissemination to ensure no regulatory prohibitions on publication given pending investment banking transactions, updating information barrier policies and procedures are updated as necessary, overseeing production of monthly management information and Key metrics, determining and escalating as appropriate potential violations of Control Group owned policies and procedures Responsibilities specific to the EMEA team include assisting in the response to Insider List requests in line with the Market Abuse Regulation, liaising with the UK Takeover Panel and applying for disclosure exemptions, and local oversight of the personal account trading activities performed with the EMEA team.

Required Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of Compliance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, education
  • 2+ years of Leadership experience
  • Prior Compliance Control Group experience
  • Prior management experience
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Adaptable to a collaborative work environment with multiple priorities and strict timelines
