As a Barclays Quantitative Analyst you will join our Quantitative Analytics group, to help growing the team and to partner with our key stakeholders, in order to drive the analytics agenda. This is an exciting opportunity to join a knowledgeable team, where you will be bringing your technical expertise and your willingness to learn about the Prime Services business, helping and supporting your colleagues to develop and improve new and existing analytics.
Barclays is one of the world's largest and most respected financial institutions, with 329 years of success, quality and innovation behind us. We offer careers that provide endless opportunity - helping millions of individuals and businesses thrive, and creating financial and digital solutions that the world now takes for granted.
We are currently operating in a hybrid working environment, meaning that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.
What will you be doing?
• Designing, developing and improving models and analytics in Prime (specifically Delta 1)
• Liaising with Front Office and Technology, to deploy analytics in production
• Providing tactical analysis
• Supporting the idea generation and implementation of new models with the analysis of existing processes and systems
• Working closely with traders to help making the business more efficient and the decision making process more transparent and data-driven
• Working with product managers to align and integrate our deliverables with the broader business initiatives
• Supporting the IT teams to deliver our solutions to the end-users
• Partnering with other teams to reuse solutions that exist in other areas of the firm
What we're looking for:
• Masters or PhD in a quantitative field (e.g. Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering)
• Extensive working knowledge of linear equity derivatives, equity ETFs, FX and IR hedges, as well as a familiarity with tools such as Python and C++
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A critical thinker, with a strong attention to detail and independent problem-solving skills
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Strong analytical and numerical skills
• Familiarity and practical experience with statistics and data analysis
• Experience with data visualization tools and libraries (e.g. Jupyter, Bokeh)
• Delta 1 experience is desirable but not essential
Where will you be working?
5 North Colonnade is home to our investment bank and is in the heart of Canary Wharf, just a short walk from our headquarters at Churchill Place. The building is easily accessible by tube, docklands light railway and all major bus links. The atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.
