PGIM Fixed Income | Senior Investment Operations Associate, Bank Loan trading and Settlement

Our Role:

This role will be part of the Fixed Income Operations Bank Loan team based in London. The incumbent in this position will be supporting the Fixed Income Bank Loan and CLO business. They should have experience of working with syndicated bank loans and preferable be familiar with the bank loan settlements process. The person in this position will be responsible for the day to day administrative tasks of the loan closing team and will be trained to close bank loans. They may also be required to assist with some tasks relating to Collateral Loan Obligations and Bond Settlements. They will have at least 1-3 years Syndicated Bank Loan experience. Knowledge of other Fixed Income products such as Collateral Loan Obligations and Bonds would be advantageous but not necessary .

Your Impact:

Bank loan trading and settlement

• Circulating the daily bank loan report

• Completing the daily Bank Loan trade checklist for new trades and relevant tasks associated to this

• Monitoring - the trading system for bank loan trades failing to feed to Wall Street Office.

• Monitoring cash breaks and research the resolution of any breaks

• Running the weekly reports including the Unsettled Bank Loan report

• Maintaining Loan Administration forms for all Bank Loan portfolios

• Partnering with the Bank Loan Servicing Team and assist with any queries

• Learning the Bank Loan Settlements process to take on responsibility for closing bank loan trades

• Close interaction with the Trade Desk, Credit and CLO Analyst Team

• When fully trained on Bank Loan closings, provide assist with coordinating Waivers and Amendments with the Credit Research Team and Agent Banks

• Provide cover for Perfect Asset Swaps maintenance.

• Be responsible for the process to set up of new funds in the relevant systems

• Assist in the reclaim of Withholding Tax

• Maintaining and updating procedures related to the role

CLO support

• Payment of invoices allocating pro-rata shares across related portfolios.

General and ad hoc issues

• Assist with Broker & Custodian feedback/meetings

• Evaluating processes, suggesting improvements and implementing efficiencies

• Adhoc settlement related tasks

• Assume ownership for any operational issues that occur as a result of a post trade event and escalate to the appropriate parties to resolve when required

• Anticipate issues that may adversely affect operational support and take action to reduce the risk of occurrences

• Proactively seek ways to improve current processes by identifying inefficiencies and leveraging technology

• Build key relationships with Trustees, Custodians and Brokers to ensure proper service levels are achieved

• Cross train with other operations associates in order to provide appropriate back-up coverage

Your Required Skills:
  • Preferably educated to A level or above
  • At least 1+ years' syndicated loans experience
  • Strong organization, communication and time management skills
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results
  • Solid understanding & appreciation of business risk & operational controls
  • Ability to organize, prioritize tasks and work in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Self-motivated
  • The ability to develop and cultivate relationships across all staff levels, both within the London office and within the Newark, USA head office
  • a willingness and desire to learn

Your Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of Blackrock's Aladdin system would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of WSO would be advantageous
  • Bank loan settlements and knowledge of LMA advantageous
  • Understanding of other Fixed Income products. Particularly CLO's
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and completeness
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills on all levels
  • Embraces and encourages change and development
  • Maintains high level of productivity and self-direction
  • Enjoys being a part of a team but is able to work independently
  • Proactive in solution solving
  • Good Excel skills
