About Schroders
We're a global investment manager. We help institutions, intermediaries and individuals around the world invest money to meet their goals, fulfil their ambitions, and prepare for the future.

We have around 5,000 people on six continents. And we've been around for over 200 years, but keep adapting as society and technology changes. What doesn't change is our commitment to helping our clients, and society, prosper.

Technology at Schroders
There's a huge amount of change going on at Schroders. Technology's shaping our business more and more, so there are many opportunities waiting to be grabbed. And because we're a big financial player, we can put hefty backing behind good ideas.

We're a serious business - we have enormous responsibilities to our clients and shareholders. But just because we're suited and booted, that doesn't make us stuffy; our tech teams are friendlier and more informal than you might expect.

The base
We moved into our new HQ in the City of London in 2018. We're close to our clients, in the heart of the UK's financial centre. And we have everything we need to work flexibly.

The team
The Investment Technology function supports a number of Investment business functions ranging from Research and Insights, Discretionary and Solutions, and Systematic/Quant

The Technology team works very closely with the Investment business to create a Technology platform with an emphasis on a stable operating environment that can function at multiple speeds and levels of scale. Our primary goal is to deliver value through Technology domain expertise and robust solutions to our customers.

What you'll do
Schroder's have changed their style of management so that managing a Global Technology domain is now more akin to the head of a "Global Servicing Organisation" than a pure line management role. A number of functions that would have previously been managed centrally within the organisation are now the responsibility of each domain. The increase in responsibilities is too much for any one person to manage successfully and the domain needs an "operations" function to ensure its smooth running as a separate "business" within Global Technology.

The operations analyst will work closely with the operations manager and the other managers within the domain to deliver a series of tools, platforms and processes that allow the domain experts to focus more fully on the key aspects of their role (change delivery). The range of areas to be covered is broad and diverse, including, but not limited to, the list below.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain tools to help the management team with financial budgets, forecasting and actuals management at a project and domain level. Work with external stakeholders to understand and deliver against their requirements.
• Develop and maintain tools to help the management team look after the wider development team (people master list, workforce management, risk and retention management, career management, skills overview etc).
• Develop and maintain tools to help the management team manage recruitment and supplier management.
• Develop tools to enable the management team to understand and manage their external responsibilities as they relate to the global risk and audit teams.
• On a regular basis provide the necessary management information for the various governance forums that exist within Schroders.
• Assist the teams to maintain knowledge repositories within Confluence and MS Teams such that the information we build out is easily accessible.
• Where feasible work with the relevant technology teams to automate processes and provide self-service tools for the above.
• Help the Operations Manager manage the internal book of work.
• Work with the Operations Manager and management in general to fully utilise MS Teams as a collaboration platform.

What you'll be like
• Strong people management and influencing skills, must have the ability to drive collaboration across multiple teams and individuals.
• Inter-personal skills; tact, patience, courtesy, good listening skills.
• Strong self-organisation, time management and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work on multiple priorities in parallel.
• Ability to operate under pressure and deliver to demanding deadlines.
• Comfortable working in a fast paced environment & reacting proactively to change.
• Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
• Ideally having good Excel/Power BI/Tableau skills.
• Excellent analysis skills with the ability to take a problem/challenge/opportunity and develop ideas, options and recommendations.

We're looking for the best, whoever they are
