As a Barclays Credit Risk Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth investigative analysis on the BUK Unsecure Lending portfolio (cards, loans and partner finance) and segments through use of data available via cluster warehouses and outsourced data. This is an excellent opportunity to develop and produce a range of reports to establish credit performance. These reports will help gather information for the monthly Risk Management Committee and senior stakeholder meetings.

Hybrid Working

We are currently operating in a hybrid working environment, meaning that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.

What will you be doing:
• Sourcing data from various data warehouses and external partners in order to conduct analysis of the BUK Unsecured Lending portfolio
• Using historical and current data and collaborating with cluster teams to provide insight and recommendations on portfolio, product and channel performance
• Providing insight and recommendations on credit performance to strategy risk teams as well as senior management
• Liaising with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure analysis/context is complete
• On-going monitoring of portfolio performance
• Taking responsibility for the production and maintenance of a variety of BAU reports, and ensuring that they are delivered within agreed timescales
• Responding to requests for information from senior management; producing timely, clear and accurate data/insight to meet those requests

What we're looking for:
• Experience of using analytics to solve complex business problems
• An excellent understanding of standard statistical packages (SAS preferred)
• Advanced Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, conditional formatting, data validation, logical functions)
• Proficiency in PowerPoint

Skills that will help you in the role:
• An academic background in a mathematical discipline e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Physics etc.
• Excellent quantitative skills and logical thinking
• Excellent interpersonal skills

Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we've been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997. This state-of-the art energy efficient building holds up to 2,500 staff. The office location is perfect for travel from the midlands and London alike as we are based just off the A45, it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
