Who we are looking for
The Fund Accounting Officer is required to work in a client facing role within the State Streets daily accounting oversight department in London. As part of the daily role, the Fund Accounting Officer is acting in an oversight capacity, reviewing the Net Asset Values of the UK registered portfolios and Pricing. The role holder is expected to work with the State Streets Outsourced Service centers and Centers of excellence ensuring that client valuations are timely and accurate prior to release to the client.

What you will be responsible for
As an Officer you will

  • Exhibit highly detailed understanding and execution of all Oversight tasks and functions such as NAV validation and dissemination.
  • Set and maintain high standards within the Accounting Oversight team.
  • Ensure NAV and reporting deadlines/deliverables are met with accuracy.
  • Co-ordinate other regular periodic deliverables to the client in line with SLA

  • Identify and implement process enhancements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of team checklists and quality control as required .
  • Work independently on highly complex issues/clients.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with clients, third parties and colleagues, communicating effectively through formalised reporting and ad hoc liaison.
  • Regularly contribute to projects impacting the wider group.
  • Review complex client deliverables.
  • Manage cash and stock accounting vs custody reconciliations exceptions with regular reports to Senior Management.
  • Build strong relationships with COE's
  • Participate in shared service/client conference calls or meetings
  • Provide feedback on Shared Services/COEs and maintain issues logs
  • Provide technical expertise on the fund accounting issue or client queries. Be able to demonstrate strong working knowledge on the fund accounting principles.
  • Minimise errors/breaches with the aim of having none that result in a financial loss/claim to State Street or the Client

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or financial related discipline and / or work related experience in financial services or fund administration
  • 3-5 years worked related experience
