Role Overview: Responsible for maintaining oversight of Schroders' global supply chain by developing and evolving Schroders' new third-party supplier risk capability to ensure we are maintaining an operationally resilient supply chain through regular assessment, monitoring and review.

You will have a solid understanding of the evolving due diligence expectations of managing risk in the supply chain, particularly in a globally regulated environment, considering the different types of assessment and risk that organisations face.

The base

You'll be based at our Broadlands Business Campus near Horsham in West Sussex. It's home to our EMEA Operations and Technology Operations hub.

The team

As the Third Party Supplier Risk Manager you will be responsible for the oversight of Schroders' supply chain based from the Broadlands Purchasing and Payments Service Centre working collaboratively with Group Procurement, to ensure that all suppliers are subjected to appropriate pre-onboarding and ongoing due diligence, fully compliant with regulatory obligations, policies, procedures and that Schroders makes effective use of it's incumbent supply chain.

What you'll do

• Leading the continued development and growth of the operating model design for the supplier oversight policy and framework, embedding best practice supplier management and oversight.
• Managing the existing, and developing new supplier due diligence processes, including financial crime, modern slavery, credit, information security, corporate responsibility etc.
• Working closely with 2nd line risk functions, e.g. Financial Crime, Credit Risk, Business Continuity to make sure supplier due diligence information is made available for subject matter expert review.
• Acting as the key control point to prevent the onboarding of supplier risk through data capture, review and assessment.
• Coordinating the de-centralised supplier oversight framework, supporting, advising and collaborating with Business Owners globally, maintaining oversight of supplier reviews, enabling supplier risk reporting capabilities ensuring policy compliance.
• Designing and embedding supplier oversight reporting capabilities and continuously improving performance and risk assessment governance and metrics.
• Continually monitor the global regulatory landscape to ensure our policies and procedures remain compliant and fit for purpose.
• Provide guidance on all areas of supplier lifecycle and business areas to direct reports and the wider team as required.
• Own the supplier contract management and oversight platform, ensuring robust processes and controls are in place to manage all supplier information ensuring it is recorded, maintained and regularly reviewed.
• Maintaining the Outsourcing Register including the record of Business Owners, contracts, criticality and associated due diligence activities.

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

• Experience of setting policy / best practice with regard to managing third party relationships in a financial services / regulated environment including setting the strategy, developing a roadmap and executing.
• Experience working with 2nd line risk functions to ensure supplier due diligence is performed and monitored whilst supporting supplier owners to fulfil their obligations and remain compliant with policy.
• Development of reporting capabilities to enable effective supplier reporting across the many areas of supply chain risk.
• Excellent levels of communication, able to influence and persuade others, whilst building strong working relationships. Knowledge and experience of various buying channels, e.g. catalogue development, preferred supplier lists, supplier panels.
• Ability to consider wider business strategy and align functional strategy accordingly. Contract review and data capture to enable reporting and oversight to Board level.
• Strong analytics experience in order to understand and interpret information, bringing insight.
• Excellent organisation, presentation and problem solving skills.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Excellent IT and numeracy skills.

The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help

• Demonstrable experience of designing, owning and implementing a supplier management and oversight framework.
• Team leadership and development, managing people and motivating to deliver transactional processes whilst continuously evolving and growing the teams' capabilities and responsibilities.
• Experience of utilising and managing procurement systems and tools.
• Ability and experience coordinating due diligence activities across technical specialists (e.g Operational Risk, Information Security, Credit Risk, Financial Crime, Legal) globally.
• Technical experience of design and implementing contract database / supplier management systems.
• Track record of global / regional delivery across complex environments.
