The Role:
M&G are recruiting a Business Analyst within the Regulatory Change portfolio. The role is to join the existing team of Business Analysts to support the delivery of projects within the regulatory portfolio. The successful candidate will be a permanent member of the team and will therefore pick up a variety of regulatory focused initiatives as they arise over time, delivering to specific requirements and fixed regulatory deadlines.

The successful candidate will have experience of performing analysis on regulatory projects within Asset Management and Insurance sector and demonstrate the ability to work on projects that span across different business areas of an investment firm.

Key Responsibilities for this role:
  • Apply judgement to deliver outcomes, evaluating a range of potential solutions, considering the impact for customers, cost and risk
  • Manage conflicts that may impact delivery
  • Challenge upwards given knowledge of delivery and awareness of complex systems and the broader picture
  • Identify and anticipate need for changes to continuously improve quality and efficiency of output
  • Manage resources and risks using expert judgment, know-how and experience
  • Produce requirements (epics and user stories)
    • perform interviews
    • analysis of documents
    • run workshops
    • define or record business process
    • prototyping scenarios
    • data analysis
    • task and workflow analysis
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal parties to analyse information needs, functional requirements, existing capabilities and feasibility, with the objective of delivering a clear implementation framework
  • Work independently and with users to define concepts and under direction of the project manager
  • Leverage strong analytical skills required to gain a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into applicable operational requirements
  • Collaborate with implementation teams and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyse trade-offs between usability and performance needs
  • Provide high level solution validation against requirements
  • Ensure that technology build is completed to specifications and testing system elements of the operating model
  • Work with the Product business teams to ensure operational readiness
  • Build good relationships, both internally and externally
  • Facilitate to elicit information from key stakeholders internally and externally
  • Effective communicator (both written and verbal) across all levels of the organisation
  • Conduct high quality process and data analysis, and compilation of user documentation
  • Comprehensive process mapping and design skills, including facilitation of process improvement
  • Apply multiple approaches and techniques, in order to lead data analysis
  • Proven and demonstrable analytical problem-solving skills essential, with the ability to think laterally and generate creative solutions
  • Identify, understand and support the impact assessment for the solution.
  • System training documentation/preparation
  • Ability to prepare the business for change through an agreed business readiness process.
  • Use of Agile and associated ceremonies
  • Ability to support the overall test plan and conduct preliminary testing to ensure requirements are met.
  • Risk mindset to identify key risks

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Technical:
  • Experience in regulatory compliance delivery
  • Experience and or understanding of regulatory projects would be preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills; oral, written and presentational including experience with senior stakeholders
  • Good knowledge on process mapping and documentation

Personal:
  • Highly organised
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Finisher
