As a Barclays Senior Credit Risk Analyst you will join our UK Secured Credit Risk team, supporting the first line mortgage business's transformation program, by providing credit risk analytics and consultations on mortgage underwriting strategies. This is an exciting opportunity to join a knowledgeable team, where you will be playing a key role in exploring new technologies and industry advances, such as open banking, as well as managing acquisition strategies and supporting product initiatives.

What will you be doing?
• Providing opinions and initiatives to help assess various transformation proposals
• Using your knowledge and experience to provide expert SAS analytics to inform decision making and underwriting strategies
• Working effectively with peers and management team to achieve shared business objectives
• Presenting and communicating results to Senior Management, driving stakeholder discussions
• Identifying new opportunities for enhancing and streamlining mortgage underwriting
• Formulating opportunities into proposals, sharing with the manager to implement them
• Providing concise and succinct summaries of the progress to line management
• Working effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve shared business objectives

What we're looking for:
• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or related analytical, statistical discipline
• Comprehensive knowledge of analytical tools, such as SAS essential, SQL and Python
• Experience in performing technical analyses, data analyses and benchmarking, as well as in using data to challenge strategies and processes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate insights into a coherent story

Skills that will help you in the role:
• A background in credit risk portfolio management would be advantageous
• Good knowledge of the mortgage market
• Experience of working collaboratively in a multi-functioned project team
• Ability to understand and deal with competing priorities
