As a Barclays EMEA Controls Analyst you will be part of the Trade and Transaction Reporting Operations Team responsible for supporting the control functions and focusing on EMEA regulations. You will be liaising within Trade and Transaction Reporting Operations, Compliance, Technology, Global Markets Operations Teams and the business. You will be analysing large data sets to understand root causes and working with colleagues to risk assess the issues and providing requirements.

What will you be doing?
• Entering input into design and building ongoing control framework to confirm completeness, accuracy and timeliness of reporting
• Assessing risk of issues and exceptions identified through daily controls. Raising and escalating necessary defects through our defect management tool
• Ensuring Barclays adhere to reporting requirements and regulatory changes through exception management and queue monitoring
• Supporting colleagues to develop a good understanding of the core EMEA regulations such that they can help address queries
• Generating and submitting reports for non-straight-through Processing trade to meet daily/weekly/monthly reporting deadlines across various obligations
• Responding to internal and external queries in a timely manner and aiding swift resolution
• Analysing trade report data in positions files from the Global Trade Review to respond to client assurance queries if required
• Creating and distributing management information to meet relevant Risk and Control report requirements

What we're looking for:
• Good grasp of EMEA regulations, aptitude and desire to learn EMEA regulations, including understanding of Exchange Traded and Over-the-Counter Derivatives
• Understanding of the various Trade Lifecycles including clearing, compressions
• Excellent understanding of front to back system architecture and end-to-end processes and controls
• Excellent analytical skills, exposure to data mining and articulating the problem statement

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Experience of data analytical / data mining tools
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications, including and not limited to Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Ability to network and build rapport and credibility quickly with a variety of key stakeholders
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to clearly articulate complicated issues to senior management and other impacted areas
