The successful candidate for this London based Compensation Accountant role will have the following responsibilities:
- Undertake accounting analysis of compensation awards included in employment contracts; track and monitor awards ensuring accuracy of accounting US GAAP and local accounting standards (US GAAP experience is not essential)
- Preparation of month end journals including calculation and posting of adjustments required for local GAAP
- Design and produce monthly reporting packages for each legal entity, including compensation trend reports, headcount trends and recent headcount changes, and expectation versus actual comparisons for our entities in EMEA and Asia
- Monthly substantiation of compensation accruals on the balance sheet
- Prepare compensation and headcount budgets/forecasts, and assist with cash flow planning for our legal entities in EMEA and Asia
- Prepare statutory reporting footnotes related to compensation and headcount
- Assist with year-end compensation planning exercises
- Contribute to projects related to the Finance Transformation program, aimed at improving the global Finance organization's operational efficiency, as required
Profile
The successful candidate for this London based Compensation Accountant role will have the following exposure:
- Recognised professional accounting qualification with post qualified experience within a fast paced, complex and multi-currency environment
- Undergraduate degree with a focus on continued professional development
- Working knowledge of compensation accounting practices for various types of compensation including, restricted stock programs, deferred cash plans, long-term incentive plans, severance
- Ability to prioritise and manage expectations
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, influencing and presentation skills
- Superior analytical skills and a keen eye for detail balanced with the ability to meet deadlines in a high pressure environment
- Strong commercial acumen with a can do mentality and the ability to effectively apply numbers to the business context
- Well-developed communication skills, ability to produce sophisticated reporting and distill key information in an engaging and meaningful way
- Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
